Job Description

ECS is seeking a Technical Writer to work in our Arlington, VA office. Please Note: This position is contingent upon contract award.

Responsibilities to include:

  • Documenting all knowledge-based information, processes, and procedures.
  • Serve as a Technical Writer in the Service Desk and in other OIG areas for the documentation of OCIO support and services.
  • The Technical Writer will be responsible for designing/creating/maintaining technical and knowledge-based documentation including (but not limited to):
    • Knowledge Repository
    • OIGNEWSLINK Articles
    • Process/Procedure Documents
    • Online Help
    • User guides
    • White papers
    • Requirements documents
    • Use cases
    • Documentation of items escalated to OIG Tier III and Engineering personnel

Qualifications

  • Must have at least three (3) years of IT technical writing experience.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills, with a strong attention to detail.
  • Must have the ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable in text and visuals.
  • Proficient with documentation tools such as Microsoft Word, VISIO, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Experienced in version control management and managing/maintaining the technical writing repository.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills and knowledge of industry standards and best practices for technical documentation.
  • The ability to maintain and obtain a public trust clearance
