Duke Energy is seeking a skilled and motivated Technical Training Specialist to support Distribution Engineering and Power Grid Operations (PGO) by designing, delivering, and continuously improving high-quality training solutions that enhance technical capability, workforce readiness, and operational performance. This role also plays a key part in developing, maintaining, and sustaining the Distribution Engineering curriculum.
The Technical Training Specialist serves as a strategic liaison between Engineering Leadership and the Training organization, ensuring alignment between technical training programs and business needs across regions. The ideal candidate brings experience in Distribution Engineering and technical training, along with strong collaboration skills and the ability to translate complex engineering concepts into clear, practical, and impactful learning experiences.

Additional Preferred Qualifications
Experience in Distribution Engineering, Utilities, or Technical Operations environments
Familiarity with engineering design processes and technical curriculum development
Experience supporting system implementations or process changes
Knowledge of training evaluation models (e.g., Kirkpatrick)
Experience with Learning Management Systems (e.g., MyLearning or equivalent)
Working knowledge of instructional design methodologies (e.g., ADDIE)
Experience developing and delivering technical training (ILT, virtual, and/or eLearning)
Experience with engineering tools and systems (e.g., Maximo, GIS, design tools, CAD)
Experience in the following Tools & Technologies:

Hybrid Mobility Classification – Work will be performed from both remote and onsite locations after the onboarding period. However, hybrid employees should live within a reasonable daily commute to a Duke Energy facility
