About the Role:

Reporting to the Training Superintendent, this challenging and rewarding role involves hands-on development and delivery of course material, conducting individual competency assessments and
coordinating document management.

Working closely with operational leaders and the OHST team, the Training Advisor drives continuous improvement through skills development, competency assurance, statutory compliance, and workforce engagement. This position plays a key role in supporting line management and building a culture of learning and safety across the site.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Assist in the development and management of the site’s training and competency framework in accordance with the Mining and Quarrying Safety and Health Act 1999 and Regulation 2001, as well as company policies.
  • Maintain accurate training records, competencies, and qualifications within the Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Ensure the TNA is accurately maintained and aligns with operational area’s current requirements
  • Delivery of statutory and operational training, including high-risk work licenses, and equipment operation.
  • Provide training performance metrics, reports, and assurance to leadership and compliance stakeholders.
  • Undertake field observations for performance of personnel operating procedures.
  • Stay up-to-date and skilled in your operations, either independently or with a mentor/expert.
  • Ensure compliance of training forecast/schedule and allocated training requirements.
  • Support training of other site departments as required.
  • Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety legislation and company policies.

About You:

You are a safety-focused and reliable Training and Safety Advisor who takes pride in delivering high-quality work and contributing to a strong team environment.

  • TAE40116/TAE40122 Certificate IV training and assessment
  • RII30420 Cert III or RII40520 Cert IV in Resource Processing
  • Prior mine site processing experience
  • Experience using training & safety management software
  • Minimum 5 years in a Mining/Training/Assessor role.
  • Current Australian C Class Driver's Licence (manual).
  • Computer literacy
  • Demonstrate strong self-management skills, a commitment to site and flexibility to adapt to unexpected changes
  • Demonstrates honesty, integrity and respect always
