The Technical Training Manager is responsible to identify technical skill gaps, create and deliver structured training programs, and standardise content, tools, and certification for employees, contractors, and customers. Support business growth through technical engagement, customer visits, inspections, and continuous improvement of learning effectiveness.
What you’ll be doing:
Training Needs Analysis – Identify competency gaps across internal sales and technical teams, installers, contractors, and key customers to develop targeted learning initiatives.
Training Program Development – Design, develop, and continuously improve technical training programs for employees, project sales teams, technical back-office teams, installers, contractors, and consultants, while adapting global content to local market requirements.
Training Program Delivery & Annual Planning – Develop and execute an annual training calendar with clearly defined learning paths, training levels, module durations, and certification requirements, ensuring alignment with business priorities and stakeholder expectations.
Content Creation & Standardization – Develop and maintain standardized training manuals, presentations, technical guides, inspection templates, training handbooks, and supporting documentation, ensuring all materials remain current and aligned with company standards.
Technical Demonstration & Training Assets – Identify, develop, and implement innovative demonstration tools, mock-ups, portable training rigs, and hands-on learning assets that enhance technical understanding and effectively demonstrate the value proposition of Knauf systems to customers and contractors.
Stakeholder Engagement & Business Support – Collaborate closely with Sales Heads, Regional Managers, Product Managers, Technical teams, and Business Unit Heads to develop and deliver technical content, while actively supporting customer engagement through technical presentations and value-added services.
Customer Visits & Value-Added Services – Conduct proactive joint visits with sales teams to key focus accounts, contractors, consultants, and applicators to promote Knauf’s Training & Academy capabilities, strengthen customer relationships, and position technical training as a competitive differentiator.
Technical Inspection & Documentation – Develop standardized site inspection templates, technical assessment formats, training records, certification processes, and technical correspondence required to support internal and external stakeholders.
Capability Development – Establish structured onboarding, refresher, and continuous learning programs for all customer-facing employees, ensuring new joiners are trained effectively, and existing employees maintain up-to-date technical competence.
Performance Measurement & Continuous Improvement – Evaluate training effectiveness through assessments, practical demonstrations, feedback, competency tracking, and performance metrics, using insights to continuously improve programs and support business objectives.

5-7 years of experience, including 2-3 years in Training Development/Technical Training.
Technical knowledge of construction systems, installation, and site practices.
Ideally have a background in the Building Materials Industry.
Stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration.
Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Content development and documentation standardisation.
Presentation and communication skills.
Technical training and facilitation.
Training needs analysis and competency mapping.
Instructional design and programme development.
Customer engagement and technical support.
Inspection, assessment, and certification processes.
Planning, organisation, and annual training calendar management.
Performance measurement and continuous improvement.
Ability to develop practical demonstrations and hands-on training tools.
Be prepared to travel at least 30% of the time.
