What Will You Be Doing as a Technical Training & Development Manager?
This is a technicalrolefocused on ensuring our frontline teams—thisrolewillfocus onLeakage operations—are trained, competent and equipped to deliver exceptional performance.
You’llplay a key role in designing and delivering high-quality, innovative training and assessment solutions that support operational excellence,safetyand regulatory compliance.
Working closely with operational teams, H&S, water quality, and external partners, you will:
Deliver and coordinate technical training and assessmentfor frontline operational teams and partners
Lead on CABWI LTO unit assessments, ensuring compliance with industry standards
Develop,reviewand continuously improve training materials to reflect evolving operational needs and best practice
Ensure all training supports safe working, environmentalprotectionand water quality standards
Use feedback and performance data to enhance the learner experience and training effectiveness
Balance training delivery with operational demands, ensuring minimal disruption to service
Support the development and implementation of competency frameworksaligned to the Competent Operator Framework
Contribute to the creation of consistent operating standards,proceduresand work instructions
Work with internal and external stakeholders to introduce new techniques,technologiesand training methods
Explore innovative delivery methods (e.g. digital learning, local skills transfer) to maximise efficiency and engagement

What Does It Take to Be a Technical Training & Development Manager?
This role is ideal for someone with strong hands-on operational experience in Leakagewho is passionate about developing others and improving how we work:
Minimum 3 years’ frontline operational experience in Leakage
Strong understanding of operational processes and field-based activities
A recognised training/assessor qualification (e.g. TAQA) or willingness to work towards
Knowledge of relevant industry standards (e.g. CABWI, Competent Operator Framework)
Health & Safety awareness (IOSH or similar desirable)
Excellent communication skills—able to translate technical content into clear, engaging training
Strong organisational skills, able to manage competing priorities and training demands
IT literate and comfortable using digital learning tools
Passion for continuous improvement and enhancing learner experience
Collaborative approach, working effectively with stakeholders across all levels
