About This Role

We are currently seeking a Technical Trainer/Content Developer for the LenelS2 business located in Pittsford, NY (a suburb of Rochester). The position is responsible for instructor-led training and eLearning content development for our NetBox security access control and video system management solution. This person will plan, develop, and conduct technical product training programs for Value Added Resellers and System Users both locally and regionally across the U.S. Working closely with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and the learning development team members, this role will also be responsible to apply adult learning strategies to create innovative, engaging, and interactive content for our portfolio of technical products. Learning product deliverables include eLearning, virtual class content, and instructor-led courses produced using sound instructional design principles and best practices. This position will be supported by the Learning Experience Manager. The technical trainer/content developer is a key success factor in product certification training program that provides learning opportunities for our customers in their moments of need.

Key Responsibilities:

• Consult with Product/Program Managers/Training Project Manager on the needs analyses of stakeholders across various areas of the business to identify true learning needs.
• Collaborate/consult with Subject Matter Experts to identify key knowledge, skills, and abilities associated with learning objectives.
• Collaborate with training and development team to identify appropriate instructional strategies based on content type, level of learner proficiency, needed post training, learner attributes, technology delivery platforms, etc.
• Contribute to the innovation of learning products by contributing ideas for new training materials and improvement of existing training materials.
• Create design documentation that communicates learning objectives, content structure, assessment measures, and learning impact.
• Create prototypes, storyboards, scripts, course content, simulations, scenarios, assessments, etc. for learning solutions.
• Build learning materials using eLearning authoring tools.
• Leverage interactive, online learning models, AICC and SCORM standards, and adult learning principles to design and deliver effective training.
• Partner with LMS Administrator to deliver and embed content.
• Establish best practices surrounding e-learning development, including creating design templates and identifying opportunities to streamline the production process.
• Keep up-to-date with instructional design methodology and best practices.
• Maintain a current technical skill set and continuously researches effective e-learning options, tools, best practices, and industry trends.
• Facilitate instructor-led and/or virtual training for various product certification courses.
• Coordinate and conduct customer onsite training courses throughout the US.
• Continuous evaluation of training effectiveness and planned improvements to increase customer satisfaction.
• Work cross-functionally to build or deepen product knowledge for existing and new product development.
• Provide excellent customer service & support by meeting and exceeding learner requirements and needs.
• Maintain industry knowledge in the areas of learning & development, security and technologies.

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED
• 3+ years software application instruction and content development
• 3+ years of experience using eLearning course authoring tools
• 30% Travel is required

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge and/or experience working with the NetBox access control systems.

• Some experience with SQL is an advantage.
• Experience with the application of electronic access control products.
• OnGuard Associate or higher Certified
• Working knowledge of VMWare deployed solutions, specifically Virtual Learning Platform
• Working knowledge of Zoom Meeting and Webinar platform solutions.
• Learning Management Systems (LMS) experience preferred.
• Multilingual preferred
• Excellent communication skills including written, verbal, listening, and presentation.
• Excellent interpersonal skills including a professional and diplomatic demeanor.
• Excellent consulting, problem solving, and analytical skills with a detail orientation.
• Experience in project execution skills necessary to interpret what is needed for the success of a project and to meet appropriate schedules for timely delivery.
• Ability to effectively and accurately work on several projects one at a time, prioritize and organize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment.
• Flexibility in competently juggling competing priorities and changing expectations.
• Proven experience as a technical trainer and/or delivering technical information leveraging various media delivered to multiple audiences.
• Confident and articulate speaker.
• Comfortable speaking to and leading small or large groups through technical learning paths.
• Knowledge of and comfort with facilitation strategies and classroom management for 8-20 students.
• Knowledge of and comfort with virtual class facilitation tools.
• Excellent writing skills.
• Strong relationship and networking ability
• Proficient at critical thinking for independent problem solving of business and technical issues.
• Strong customer service orientation.
• Seasoned technical Microsoft Windows (Microsoft Server and Windows 10) user.
• Highly capable Microsoft Office user.
• Network Knowledge.
