A Technical Trainer is passionate about reaching technicians to help them advance their careers! You are responsible for the facilitation of all Technical Training courses and administering assessments to evaluate effectiveness. This also includes set up and tear down courses. Some travel is required to other training academy locations or other specified locations (est. 15% travel).
• Facilitate live, virtual, and remote general / basic technical training courses
• Proctor general basic level assessments
• Act as mentor to technicians
• Set up and tear down of courses
• Organization of tool inventory, equipment, and workshop environment
• Clean and maintain local fleet
• Check in training participants and ensure safety protocols are adhered to
• Ensure participants are properly dressed for a productive and safe session
• Maintain rosters and close out courses
• Set cars up with faults as needed for training tasks
• Strong presentation and facilitation skills
• Automotive technical competencies learned through hands-on roles at either retail or independent vehicle service centers, or by completing formal education at Technical Colleges.
• Collaborate with trainers from other locations on classroom opportunities
• Computing & analytical skills; MS Word, MS PowerPoint & MS Excel
• Understanding of Adult Learning concepts and facilitation styles
Preferred Education and Certifications:
• Applicants must have at least 2 years of experience in delivering technical courses, either with a Luxury Automotive Manufacturer or through a Certified Automotive Technical School.
• Red Seal Skills Level Certification in Automotive Technical Competence (Canada)
• Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics and hybrid / all electric vehicle systems
Salary Range:
• $79,834 to $134,857 per year
Compensation is determined based on experience, qualifications, internal equity, location and company guidelines
