The Technical Trainer leads the coordination, delivery, and support of technical training programs across a large geographic area, focusing on driver, technician, and field-based employee development. This role is responsible for enhancing workforce competence across multiple job functions and experience levels, while serving as a subject matter expert (SME) in propane operations, equipment, and safety practices. The position ensures that employees are equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to perform safely and effectively.

Working closely with Regulatory and Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Business Partners, the role supports compliance by translating regulatory requirements, safety standards, and technical guidance into practical, job-specific training. The position delivers both virtual and in-person training, supports certification and qualification programs, and guides a network of Helper Trainers to ensure consistent, high-quality training across assigned locations. Success is measured through training effectiveness, employee competency, compliance adherence, and the consistent delivery of training initiatives.

This is a full-time position, available as either year-round employment or seasonal employment, depending on candidate availability and business needs.

What you'll do:
• Deliver technical and safety training for various field roles. (i.e., Drivers, Technicians, Specialists etc.)
• Facilitate engaging training sessions in classroom, field, and virtual environments.
• Serve as the SME for technical training requirements.
• Interpret regulatory requirements and translate them into practical training.
• Support onboarding, certification, and qualification programs.
• Lead, mentor, and support a distributed group of Helper Trainers.
• Ensure training consistency and compliance across locations.
• Collaborate with Regulatory Compliance & Technical Safety Business Partners, Occupational Health & Safety Business Partners, and Operational Team to identify training needs.
• Support audits, inspections, and incident follow up from a training perspective.

What you bring:
• Secondary school diploma combined with specialized training in safety, technical instruction, or a related discipline.
• 3–5 years of experience in a safety-focused, technical, or operational role, with exposure to training, coaching, or knowledge transfer.
• Strong technical knowledge and subject matter expertise in safety practices, procedures, and regulatory standards.
• Advanced verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively deliver training, facilitate learning, and adapt messaging to diverse audiences.
• High level of coordination and dexterity in managing training materials, demonstrations, equipment, and hands-on learning activities.
• Demonstrated ability to take ownership of training outcomes, identify knowledge gaps, and address safety or performance issues proactively.
• Proven experience working with internal teams and operational stakeholders to coordinate training delivery and support ongoing safety initiatives.
• Ability to support and enhance safety programs by contributing to continuous improvement, process standardization, and training effectiveness.
• Capable of making sound decisions within established safety guidelines, exercising judgment to adapt training approaches based on learner needs and operational requirements.
• Strong attention to detail and concentration when delivering safety-critical training, with the ability to apply analytical problem-solving and perform moderate physical activity, including demonstrations and field-based instruction.
• Legal Authorization to work in the US is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas now or in the future for this job opening

The expected annual salary range for this role is $70,000 - $85,500, general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, geographical location, as well as market and business considerations.
