Job Description

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Technical Trainer to develop, manage, and deliver technical training solutions and product support documentation for internal personnel and customers. The successful candidate will ensure effective knowledge transfer, operational competence, and sustainment of HENSOLDT GEW products and systems throughout their lifecycle while supporting customer readiness and organisational capability.

Qualifications and experience

  • National Higher Diploma or BTech in Electronic Engineering (Light Current) or Mechanical Engineering.

  • Formal qualification in Training and Development, Adult Education, Instructional Design, or a related field would be advantageous.

  • Minimum 10 years' experience following attainment of the first technical qualification.

  • Minimum 4 years' experience within a technical training environment.

  • Experience in the operation, maintenance, or support of Electronic Warfare (EW), SIGINT, or related electronic systems.

  • Experience in technical writing and the development of technical documentation would be advantageous.

  • Experience within the aerospace, defence, military, or related high-technology industries.

  • Operational experience in the deployment and maintenance of land-based EW systems would be advantageous.

Key technical skills

  • Operation, maintenance, and repair of electronic systems and subsystems.

  • Electronic Warfare (EW), Signal Intelligence (SIGINT), and related technology domains.

  • Product Lifecycle Support and Integrated Logistics Support principles.

  • Technical documentation development and management.

  • Training Needs Analysis (TNA).

  • Curriculum development and training programme design.

  • Development of learner guides, facilitator guides, assessment guides, and training manuals.

  • Instructional design methodologies and adult learning principles.

  • Assessment design and learning evaluation techniques.

  • Technical training delivery across multiple audience levels.

  • Development and management of training plans and schedules.

  • Technical presentation and facilitation techniques.

  • Training administration and certification management.

  • MS Office Suite.

  • Microsoft Visio.

  • Learning and documentation development tools.

  • Technical publishing and document management systems.

Key responsibilities

Instructional Design and Training Material Development

  • Design and develop technical training programmes, curricula, assessments, manuals, and learning materials based on product requirements and training needs analysis to ensure effective knowledge transfer and competence development for internal and external stakeholders.

Technical Training Delivery

  • Facilitate technical training on HENSOLDT GEW products, systems, operation, maintenance, and support activities across varying audience levels to develop operational capability and ensure effective system utilisation and sustainment.

Technical Documentation and Knowledge Management

  • Develop, maintain, and coordinate technical documentation, including operator manuals, maintenance manuals, illustrated parts catalogues, and logistics support documentation to ensure accurate product knowledge, operational support, and compliance with customer requirements.

Training Coordination and Administration

  • Manage training plans, schedules, delegate coordination, certification processes, and training records to ensure efficient execution, governance, and traceability of all training activities and outcomes.

Training Support, Continuous Improvement and Project Execution

  • Support project, product support, and business objectives through training proposal development, effort estimation, process improvement initiatives, and collaboration with engineering and project teams to ensure high-quality training solutions and continuous enhancement of training effectiveness.
