Job Description

We work with water authorities, government and industry to deliver innovative water management, metering and monitoring solutions that help protect one of our most valuable resources.

The Technical Training Contractor is engaged to design, develop and deliver targeted technical training solutions aligned to specific business needs, projects and capability gaps.

This role focuses on delivering defined training outcomes, including development of e-learning, technical content, and structured programs that can be scaled across the business.

Interstate travel will be required ad hoc.

Scope of Engagement

  • Project-based delivery
  • Defined deliverables, timelines and outcomes
  • May include:
    • Program design
    • Content development
    • Delivery
    • Capability uplift initiatives

Key Responsibilities

1. Training Project Delivery

  • Design and deliver end-to-end training solutions aligned to project scope
  • Work to defined timelines, milestones and outcomes
  • Deliver training aligned to operational priorities (e.g. metering rollout, safety uplift, new contracts)

2. E-Learning & Digital Content Development

  • Develop mobile-first e-learning modules for field teams
  • Convert existing training into scalable digital formats
  • Build structured learning pathways using platforms such as SafetyCulture
  • Create engaging, practical content suited to trade-based environments

3. Technical Content & Frameworks

  • Develop:
  • SOPs / work instructions
  • Competency frameworks
  • Assessment tools (e.g. sign-offs, checklists)
  • Align content to:
    • Industry standards
    • WHS requirements
    • Operational processes

4. Stakeholder Engagement

  • Partner with:
  • Operations leaders
  • Safety / HSEQ
  • People & Capability
  • Translate business needs into practical training solutions

5. Capability Uplift Outcomes

  • Focus on measurable outcomes, such as:
    • Improved competency
    • Reduced incidents
    • Increased productivity
    • Standardised ways of working

Key Deliverables

  • Apprentice training modules (digital + practical)
  • Safety microlearning (e.g. jetting machine, electrical, plant)
  • Technical training packages (e.g. meter installs, leak detection)
  • Competency frameworks and assessment tools (apprentices & meter techs)
  • Training rollouts for new contracts or services

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Qualified and experienced in plumbing / water industry
  • Certificate IV in Training & Assessment
  • Strong experience in training design (not just delivery)
  • Proven ability to deliver project-based training outcomes
  • Experience creating e-learning / digital training content
  • Strong understanding of WHS and compliance requirements

Desirable

  • Experience working with RTOs or accredited training
  • Experience with platforms like SafetyCulture or LMS systems
  • Experience in high-volume or field-based environments
