
Technical Director
‘Position Summary
The Technical Director (TD) is responsible for making sure that all technical aspects of a show are carried out in a timely fashion. This includes coordinating the lighting and handling any technical details needed during performances. They facilitate communication across all creative and technical departments; oversees lights, sound, and calls all technical cues during performances.
Duties & Responsibilities
Coordinates the work of the stage crew
Calls cues and possibly actors' entrances during performances
Oversees the entire show each time it is performed
Oversees tech room and tech club for all art department performances
Oversees any technical needs for all events in the school auditorium
Help staff with setting light cues and working with microphones
Schedules auditorium usage
Attends all production meetings and follow through on all assigned tasks
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Competencies & Strengths
Education: High School diploma required; supplemental training or coursework in theatrical production, stagecraft, theatrical audio, or theatrical lighting preferred; college degree preferred
Experience: Two years of work experience in technical theater production; experience in theatrical audio or theatrical lighting preferred.

Type of fingerprint clearance: Shall be fingerprint checked pursuant to A.R.S 15-512
Physical functions: Must be able to remain in a stationary (standing or sitting) position for 75% of the time; may occasionally move around the campus 25% of the time.
Equipment used: Theatrical audio/visual and lighting boards and other specialized equipment.
Work Environment: May be required to move or position equipment up to 30 pounds. May be exposed to outdoor weather.
