You play a key role in helping deliver the energy transition. As a Technical Tender Manager in our Customer Engineering team, you lead the technical coordination of complex tender opportunities and help define solutions for major power transmission projects.
Based in Stafford in a hybrid role, you work at the centre of technical decision-making during the tender phase. You bring together multidisciplinary teams, guide the development of robust and competitive solutions, and act as a trusted technical point of contact for customers and internal stakeholders. Your work helps ensure that proposals are technically strong, practical to deliver, and aligned with customer needs and business goals.
You lead the technical coordination of large and complex tenders, helping shape high-value solutions from an early stage and ensuring engineering activities are delivered to time, quality, and scope expectations.
You will also:
Act as the main technical contact for customers during the tender phase
Define the technical scope and coordinate engineering deliverables across multiple disciplines
Bring together input from engineering, supply chain, solution teams, and wider business functions
Lead technical reviews, design validation activities, and key decision points throughout the tender process
Guide teams towards solutions that are safe, reliable, cost-effective, practical to install, and efficient to operate
Develop and manage the tender engineering plan, including schedules, resource needs, and budget estimates
Identify technical risks and work with stakeholders to develop effective mitigation plans
Review technical documentation and ensure consistency, quality, and accuracy across the tender submission
Support technical governance and encourage the use of standard processes, tools, and best practices
Ensure safety and environmental considerations are built into the proposed solution
Capture lessons learned and use them to strengthen future tender quality and competitiveness
You bring strong technical leadership experience from complex infrastructure, power, or engineering project environments. You are confident coordinating multidisciplinary teams, managing technical scope, and engaging with customers and senior stakeholders.
We’re particularly interested in candidates who have:
Experience leading or coordinating the technical aspects of complex tenders or major projects
A strong engineering background in power transmission, energy, infrastructure, or a similar technical field
The ability to guide multidisciplinary teams and align stakeholders in a matrix environment
Experience managing technical deliverables, schedules, risks, and budgets
Strong communication skills and the confidence to represent technical solutions with customers and internal decision-makers
A structured, practical, and solution-focused approach
A clear commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement
It would be helpful if you also have experience with large-scale transmission, grid, or converter-based projects, but if your background includes similarly complex engineering programmes, we would still welcome your application.
You join a team that is helping modernise power networks and support a more sustainable energy future. In this role, you influence major projects before delivery begins, giving you the opportunity to shape technical strategy, drive high-quality solutions, and make a visible impact on business success.
You will work with international customers, global teams, and advanced technologies in an environment that values collaboration, expertise, and innovation. This is an exciting opportunity to take on a highly visible role with strong scope for long-term career growth.
We offer a permanent hybrid opportunity based in Stafford, along with the chance to work on complex, high-impact projects in a collaborative international environment. You’ll have access to development opportunities, advanced engineering tools and processes, and meaningful work that contributes directly to stronger, more resilient power networks.
This role is based in Stafford, United Kingdom, with hybrid working and regular collaboration across office-based teams. Occasional travel may be required, including customer or supplier visits in the UK and internationally.
We are committed to creating an inclusive workplace where everyone can thrive. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds and experiences.
If you’re ready to lead technical tender solutions that support the future of energy, we’d love to hear from you.
