Job Description

Job Profile: Technical Support Engineer in Industrial Digital Solutions department.

The Technical Support Engineer is responsible for operating a regional hardware hub to assemble, configure, and test Industrial PCs and other HW components according to project requirements. This role ensures high-quality delivery to regional customers by managing local hardware operations, maintaining information systems, and providing technical support. The position involves hands-on hardware tasks, system configuration, warehouse coordination, and occasional customer-site support.

Key Responsibilities

1. IPC / HW Assembly & Testing

  • Assemble Industrial PCs and HW components according to project-specific configurations and BOM requirements.
  • Perform stress tests, burn-in tests, and functional verification of built units.
  • Document test results and ensure hardware quality before shipment.

2. Operating System & Software Configuration

  • Install and configure customized OS images (Windows Embedded family / Linux-based).
  • Deploy specialized software and drivers required for each IPC or HW variant.
  • Validate system performance after image installation.

3. Information & ERP System Management

  • Maintain accurate IPC / HW records in ERP and internal tracking systems.
  • Update component usage, inventory movements, serial numbers, and work orders.
  • Together with team support process documentation and ensure compliance with company quality workflows.

4. Local Hardware Warehouse Management

  • Maintain a clean, organized warehouse of hardware components and materials.
  • Conduct inventory accuracy checks, manage stock levels, and support cycle counts.
  • Coordinate with the local procurement team to ensure timely component availability.

5. Hardware Testbench Operation

  • Operate and maintain the hardware testbench used for hardware validation.
  • Perform compatibility tests for new HW components and IPC configurations.
  • Support onboarding and qualification of new industrial hardware.

6. Warranty & Non‑Warranty Investigations

  • Diagnose returned units to identify root causes of hardware failures.
  • Document and classify findings (warranty vs. non-warranty).
  • Provide feedback to engineering and quality teams.

7. Customer-Site Technical Support (Occasional)

  • Perform on-site installation, troubleshooting, or hardware replacement when required.
  • Support customers during project deployment phases.
  • Represent the company professionally at customer locations.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Technical Skills

  • Experience with industrial hardware, PCs, embedded systems, or electronics.
  • Ability to assemble and troubleshoot PC hardware (CPU, RAM, SSD, I/O cards, power supplies, etc.).
  • Hands-on experience with OS installation, imaging tools, and driver setup.
  • Understanding of hardware test procedures and measurement tools.
  • Basic knowledge of networking (IP configuration, switches, diagnostic tools).
  • Ability to read and work with technical documentation, schematics, and BOMs.

Software & System Skills

  • Experience with ERP systems
  • Familiarity with ticketing, documentation, and configuration management systems.
  • Basic scripting or automation knowledge is a plus (PowerShell, Linux shell).

Operational Skills

  • Warehouse operations experience (inventory, components handling).
  • Ability to manage hardware stock levels and coordinate with procurement.
  • Strong documentation skills and attention to detail.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical mindset.
  • Ability to work independently with a high degree of reliability.
  • Structured and organized working style.
  • English: Professional working proficiency.
  • Good communication skills for cross-team coordination.
  • Willingness to occasionally travel to customer sites.

Preferred Experience (Nice to Have)

  • Experience in industrial automation, manufacturing, or embedded computing.
  • Basic knowledge of industrial communication protocols (EtherCAT, Profibus, CAN-bus).
  • Experience with stress-testing tools.
  • Basic knowledge of ISO 9001 or similar quality standards.
