ob Title: Technical Supervisor (Facilities & Maintenance)

JLL is seeking an experienced Technical Supervisorto lead the on-site facilities maintenance and engineering team at a prestigious Central London site. This role is pivotal in delivering a best-in-class maintenance service and ensuring the building's infrastructure is safe, efficient, and resilient.

Team Leadership & Management

  • Supervise, coordinate, and lead the site-based engineering team to deliver all maintenance and repair services per the contract.
  • Provide hands-on technical guidance and mentorship to the engineering team to foster skill development.
  • Maintain minimum staffing levels and arrange shift coverage as needed, including out-of-hours emergency support.
  • Champion a "Safety First" culture, ensuring strict adherence to all JLL Cardinal Rules of Safety during maintenance activities.
  • Deliver monthly toolbox talks and safety awareness programs focused on the specific risks of engineering and maintenance work.

Facilities & Maintenance Management

  • Oversee the planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedule and all reactive maintenance activities to ensure maximum operational uptime.
  • Manage all Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing (MEP) systems and building fabric, ensuring they are maintained to the highest standards and in compliance with statutory regulations.
  • Utilize the CAFM system to manage workflows, track asset performance, and ensure adherence to all maintenance SLAs and KPIs.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement, recommending enhancements to maintenance strategies, asset lifecycle, and building systems efficiency.

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Conduct regular health and safety inspections of all engineering work and perform routine audits of statutory logbooks.
  • Manage all critical incident reporting and near-miss documentation related to facilities operations, leading after-action reviews to prevent recurrence.
  • Carry out site supervisory visits to ensure the quality of both in-house and subcontractor work meets the required standards.
  • Review all Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) and permits to work for maintenance tasks.

Client & Stakeholder Relations

  • Act as the primary technical point of contact for the client and site teams on all facilities maintenance and engineering matters.
  • Attend and professionally deliver weekly operations meetings, reporting on maintenance performance and challenges.
  • Take ownership of client needs related to the building's environment and maintain clear, proactive communication.

Performance & Reporting

  • Prepare and present monthly engineering reports, detailing PPM completion rates, reactive works, budget tracking, and asset performance.
  • Ensure all maintenance delivery meets and exceeds contractual SLA and KPI requirements.
  • Escalate critical equipment failures immediately to the Technical Manager with clear recommendations for resolution.

Vendor & Supply Chain Management

  • Manage specialist maintenance subcontractors, ensuring their site visits are properly coordinated and approved.
  • Review all technical quotes for remedial works or projects before submission for approval.
  • Source quotes and organize minor works and repairs in line with delegated authority.
  • Manage the critical spares inventory, including maintaining stock registers and conducting monthly audits.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Essential Experience:5-10 years in a facilities maintenance supervision role, preferably within a corporate or high-end commercial environment.
  • Technical Background:Strong, hands-on technical background in MEP systems (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing).
  • Team Management:Demonstrable experience managing an in-house team of multi-skilled engineers.
  • Systems:Proficient in using Computer-Aided Facilities Management (CAFM) systems for work order management and reporting.
  • Qualifications:Relevant technical qualifications (e.g., City & Guilds, HNC/HND in a building services discipline) are highly desirable.
