Responsible for the overall management and technical operations of the fleet. This includes overseeing the daily operations of maintenance and repair, budgeting, survey schedules, onboard general assessment of vessels, inspections and docking, etc. Ensuring that the Computerized Maintenance Monitoring System (CMMS) is kept up to date.
GENERAL
You will report to the Marine Assets Manager on completed and planned maintenance/repairs.
Ensure assigned vessels are technically operational per management agreements.
Liaise with customers, OEMs, and service providers on technical matters.
Oversee dry docking, repairs, surveys, and define repair specifications.
Prepare post–dry dock reports (scope, budgets, expenditures).
Source cost-effective technical and operational supplies.
Support certification management (statutory, SOLAS, equipment) in Marad/Phronesys.
Provide technical support to vessels locally and overseas.
Evaluate repair quotes, select shipyards, and monitor maintenance activities.
Conduct onboard visits and monthly log/process reviews (via Phronesys).
Monitor vessel status (class certification, surveys).
Supervise contractors and maintenance work.
Support crew selection and performance reviews (engine room).
Manage budgets and cost control (spares, docking).
Conduct compliance audits and investigate defects/failures.
Collaborate with Marine Superintendent and HSE team on QHSE implementation.
Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and safety regulations.
Maintain zero LTI record; report incidents and near misses.
Handle additional technical/project assignments as required.
QHSE
Ensure compliance with ISM Code.
Promote strong HSE culture and lead by example.
Ensure staff competence, training, and proper appraisals.
Integrate HSE into all departmental activities and meetings.
Ensure incidents are reported, investigated, and corrected.
Enforce disciplinary action for safety or environmental non-compliance.
Degree in Marine Engineering or relevant experience in both mechanical and electrical engineering
5 years minimum experience in a leadership role
Experience with Planned Maintenance Systems
Excellent technical knowledge of ships equipment.
Willing to travel when needed (vessel interventions)
Must have a full driving license
Ability to communicate with people on all levels
Good knowledge of English
