Job Description

As the Technical Superintendent (m/f/d), you will play a crucial role in managing and maintaining the technical operations of our container ship fleet. Your primary responsibility is to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of our vessels, adhering to international regulations and industry best practices. You will work closely with the ship's crew, providing technical guidance and support to address any maintenance or repair issues that may arise.

  • Oversee planned maintenance, repairs, and inspections, ensuring compliance with IMO, MARPOL, SOLAS, and Cyber Security standards.
  • Manage classification society surveys, flag state inspections, class renewals, and in‑water surveys.
  • Implement and control maintenance schedules to optimize reliability and minimize downtime.
  • Conduct routine vessel inspections, identifying risks and applying preventive measures.
  • Monitor and report technical operations, budgets, and performance to stakeholders.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting guidance to shipboard crews.
  • Develop and execute contingency plans for emergencies and equipment breakdowns.
  • Drive continuous improvement by applying industry best practices and technological advancements.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Several years of relevant experience in ship management or onboard technical roles.
  • Proficiency in ship management systems, ideally SERTICA.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities for complex technical issues.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work across diverse teams.
  • Solid business mindset focused on cost control and operational efficiency.
  • Advanced MS Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint); QlikView/Qlik Sense and SAP are a plus.
  • Fluent in English and willing to travel internationally as required.
