Technical Specification Manager – India | Construction Materials F/H

Permanent Contract – Full remote from India

As part of our development in the construction materials industry, our R&D teams are developing innovative mineral solutions designed to improve the performance and sustainability of concretes and mortars, with a particular focus on concrete slabs and industrial flooring.

To support and accelerate this development, we are looking for an experienced Technical Specification Manager based in India, to act as Terresis ambassador among the engineers, architects, contractors and end-users who shape India's construction projects.

Your main missions will be

As India Technical Specification Manager, you will play a key role in establishing Terresis' technology in the Indian construction market.

Working closely with the sales team, global R&D and management, you will lead the technical market development of Terresis’ construction materials solutions in India. You will build relationships with specifiers and project stakeholders, drive product qualification through trials and technical evidence, and help convert specified opportunities into commercial projects.

You will act as a technical reference for Terresis in the Indian market, combining technical expertise, market development and stakeholder engagement.

The role will initially focus on India. As Terresis’ construction materials business develops, the remit may expand to support technical market development in other Asian markets.

Key Responsibilities

• Technical market development
• Develop relationships with engineering and consulting companies, architecture firms, construction material providers (RMC), contractors, and major end-users;
• Build awareness and understanding of Terresis technologies and their value proposition among key technical stakeholders;
• Identify market needs, technical requirements and emerging opportunities in the Indian construction industry;
• Identify and develop opportunities where technical specification can create a pathway to commercial development.
• Specification & qualification
• Engage with technical decision-makers to influence the specification and adoption of Terresis solutions;
• Support product qualification processes with customers, contractors and other relevant stakeholders;
• Develop technical documentation, application guidelines and specification materials in collaboration with Terresis' technical and R&D teams;
• Monitor relevant Indian standards, technical requirements and industry practices;
• Contribute, where relevant, to industry associations, technical committees and standardization initiatives.
• Technical support & customer development
• Conduct technical presentations and training sessions for customers, consultants, contractors and other stakeholders;
• Participate in conferences, seminars, trade shows and other industry events;
• Support customer trials and product evaluations, including on-site technical support;
• Work closely with customers and technical partners to troubleshoot application issues and identify opportunities for further development;
• Capture market feedback and translate customer and application requirements into inputs for Terresis' R&D and product development activities.
• Business development & strategy
• Work closely with the Sales team to convert technical opportunities into commercial opportunities;
• Actively contribute to the definition of Terresis' development strategy in India for the construction materials segment;
• Identify priority markets, applications, customers and technical stakeholders;
• Contribute to the development of the Indian business plan and associated technical and commercial priorities;
• Provide regular market intelligence and feedback to Terresis management and R&D teams;
• Recommend priority applications, stakeholders and market development actions for India’s construction materials business;
• Share customer needs, competitor activity and market feedback with sales, management and R&D;
• Success will be assessed through successful product qualifications and trials, specification wins, and projects converted to sales with the sales team. The role does not carry an individual sales target.

Profile :

Technical Specification Manager – India | Construction Materials F/H

Profile

• Master's degree or PhD in Civil Engineering, Materials Science, Construction Materials or a related technical field;
• 7+ years of professional experience in concrete technology, concrete additives, formulation and/or construction materials applications;
• Strong practical understanding of concrete formulation, performance and application;
• Experience in industrial flooring, concrete slabs or related applications is a strong advantage;
• Solid understanding of the Indian construction and construction materials industry, including its key stakeholders and decision-making processes;
• Experience working with engineering firms, consultants, contractors, concrete producers and/or major end-users;
• Previous involvement with industry associations, technical committees or standardization bodies is a plus;
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical topics to both technical and non-technical audiences;
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders;
• Comfortable both on a job site and in front of engineering decision-makers;
• Entrepreneurial mindset, with the ability to identify opportunities and turn technical discussions into concrete business opportunities;
• Autonomous, proactive and comfortable working in an international company with remote teams;
• Willingness to travel frequently within India and occasionally abroad;
• Fluent English; knowledge of other Indian languages is a plus.
