Hiring Unit:
Athletics & Recreation

Under the direction of the Men's Hockey - Head Coach, the technical specialist will be expected to assist the head coach in the implementation of performance and development initiatives that will help ensure the success of the hockey student-athletes. Expected to assist head coach with other related functions.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement plan for long term development of student-athletes, and/or video analysis after games, practices and goalie pre-scouting for opposition.
  • Ensure that team equipment is maintained, preparation, and distributed for team practices and games
  • Record activities during a game and keeping track of statistics.
  • Analyze data and identify trends of game/team/athlete activity/competency during games and post games. Prepares reports for coaches to review.
  • Assist with scheduling practices and coaching at competitions.
  • Help with administrative tasks such as ordering and distribution of apparel and bathing suits and managing the team social media accounts as required.
  • Assist with individual student athlete development which includes technical, tactical and strategic skills
  • Support the coaching staff in implementing practice plans, competition strategies, and seasonal objectives.

Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of the hockey sport
  • Prior coaching experience at an elite/competitive level
  • Level II NCCP certification or equivalent
  • Able to commit to a flexible schedule
  • Bilingual – French and English

***Expected to complete mandatory training/course including Safe Sport and CCES Anti-Doping

***Selected candidate must successfully pass their criminal background check.
