Job Description

We are seeking a Technical SpecialistQuarry Operations with strong capability in MRWA specifications, local council requirements, and the Australian Standards governing aggregates, road base, and quarry materials. This role supports quality, compliance, and technical performance across all quarry products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and interpret MRWA specifications, local authority (council) requirements, and relevant AS 2758 / AS 1141 standards.
  • Conduct and review source‑rock testing, including petrographic analysis, AAR (ASR/ACR) assessments, and durability index requirements.
  • Evaluate aggregate performance for road base, concrete, asphalt, drainage, and civil construction applications.
  • Oversee sampling, laboratory testing, and quality control for quarry products (grading, LA abrasion, water absorption, flakiness, density, PI/LL for road base).
  • Identify geological variations affecting product quality and advise on corrective actions.
  • Provide technical support to production teams on crushing, screening, blending, and moisture management.
  • Prepare technical reports, product data sheets, and customer‑facing technical advice.

Skills & Experience

  • Strong understanding of aggregate behaviour, road‑base performance, and quarry operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret MRWA specs, council requirements, and Australian Standards.
  • Experience with petrography, AAR testing, durability assessments, and source‑rock classification.
  • Familiarity with AS 1141 testing methods and AS 2758 product requirements.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Background in civil engineering, geology, materials testing, or quarry operations (preferred).
