Job Description

Technical Specialist

– Responsibilities

End-to-End Lifecycle Decom Ownership (Global Scope): Demand validation → Technical assessment → Execution governance → Validation → Closure.

Validate decom requests for completeness and technical feasibility before vendor engagement.

Ensure final validation from BS SPOC / Requestor prior to shut down.

Govern execution performed by support partners.

Ensure SLA compliance (1-month accountability model).

Drive closure with CMDB, DNS, infrastructure hygiene.

Governance & Risk Management:

Accountable for SLA adherence across all decom activities.

Ensure micro-activities by dependent teams are completed within SLA.

Perform risk assessment prior to shut down.

Validate dependencies (OS, middleware, DB, DNS, storage).

Prevent premature or incomplete decommissioning.

Manage escalations proactively across global stakeholders.

Technical Oversight & Execution:

Linux, Windows, AIX, Mainframe | Middleware: Apache, Tomcat | Databases: Oracle & other DB instances

Middleware: TWS, CFT | DNS cleanup | Basic Gitlab / Ansible execution + Ansible automation scripting

SharePoint / Service Now / Power BI Basic Knowledge.

Hands-on technical validation when required, for instance decom.

Financial & Business Impact:

Track and report monthly cost savings from infrastructure release.

Contribute to: Modernization initiatives, Obsolescence removal, Data center exit programs e.g.: exit MOP

Infra cost optimization strategy, Prevent incidents through controlled decom validation.

Governance across vendor-driven execution.

Leadership & Stakeholder Management:

Global coordination with:

BS / Zone Stakeholders

Support Partners

Infra & Platform Teams

Influence-based leadership model.

Conduct KT sessions and Onboard new zones & teams.

Train new joiners.

Manage decom across instances, VMs, physical servers, reporting & metrics.
