
Reporting to the Supervisor/Manager this position is responsible for coordinating and executing technical or engineering-support activities. The role requires high technical aptitude and problem-solving ability, and excellent teamwork skills to be successful.
• Influences project decisions having a moderate impact on the company that may include leading employees or contractors involving electrical systems and equipment.
• Applies technical knowledge to help promote a safe work environment and to enhance customer satisfaction.
Performs assignments in specialized areas requiring technical expertise.
Assists in reviews functional specifications for completeness and consider practical limitations.
Collaborates in activities as a member of a multi-disciplinary team.
May review and assist with technical documentation.
Work planning, coordination, budgeting, and cost estimating.
May assist in developing and updating single line diagrams, technical documentation, and equipment specifications for engineering review and approval.
Supports material procurement.
Conducts QA/QC, support closing gaps, and manage lessons learned.
Provides technical support to field and construction groups.
Utilizes and improve technical processes and standards.
Provides reporting, including presentations to work groups and management.
Position may be required to work extended hours including major storm restoration work and associated drills as assigned.
Other duties as assigned.
Additional Job Description:
Minimum Qualifications
BS in a technical field from ABET-accredited college.
Five years of applicable technical experience or a combination of education and applicable technical experience. Master’s degree counts as one year
General knowledge and experience with regulations, guides, standards, codes, methods, and practices necessary to perform assignments for a specific discipline, various installations, or services
Business knowledge in the utility & regulated environment.
Proven experience applying sound judgment to make decisions.
Strong interpersonal and relationship development skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to effectively interact with internal and external customers.
Excellent team player and ability to prioritize assignments to meet commitments.
Problem-solving skills with proven ability to resolve engineering issues.
Mentor to junior team members.
