Position Title: Technical Solution Engineer

Role Purpose
The Technical Solutions Engineer is a technical role within NCC Group’s Sales Engineering & Field Strategy team, supporting the design and delivery of cybersecurity solutions across professional and managed services. This role provides technical assistance during pre-sales engagements, ensuring client requirements are understood and accurately scoped. Technical Solutions Engineers contribute to proposals, statements of work, and quality assurance processes, working closely with Solution Architects and Sales teams to deliver high-quality, client-focused solutions.

This position is ideal for individuals with a strong technical foundation and a desire to develop expertise in solution architecture and cybersecurity consulting. It requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide support to other Solution Architects for elements such as completing scoping questionnaires with clients.
  • Have a high-level understanding of the technical product portfolio.
  • Undertake technical pre-sales engagements, including but not limited to:
    • Generation of customer proposals
    • Supporting Sales and Accounts team to nurture and progress client new business wins and existing business retention in proposals and RFPs/Tenders.
  • Capture and provide customer/business requirements and feedback on existing products.
  • Providing input to/influence new technical developments/approaches within our markets.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

  • A willing to understand technology and processes related to the Security Operation Centres (experience or understanding of Splunk, Microsoft, Carbon Black and Crowdstrike knowledge is a bonus) and related activities.
  • Experience in scoping and designing client solutions.
  • Cyber Security knowledge with evidence of the ability to learn and understand challenges and solutions.
  • Ability to aid colleagues with visualising, conceptualise, articulate problems and construct solutions.
  • Excellent written communication skills; the ability to structure and articulate written communications in a persuasive and succinct form as well as grammatically correct.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and presentation skills.

  • Information Security related degree or equivalent experience.
