Our client is an independent, African-led education and consultation platform focused on helping individuals better understand the market, opportunities, processes and risks associated with building careers and businesses in the UAE and wider Gulf.

The platform offers practical education through academies, courses, workshops and mentoring, covering areas such as entrepreneurship, sales, finance, investing, technology, e-commerce, digital marketing and freelancing.

Position Summary

They are seeking an experienced Technical Solutions Architect & Project Manager – Digital Platform & AI to oversee the development, implementation and continuous improvement of a digital learning platform with AI-powered capabilities.

The successful candidate will represent the company's interests when working with external software developers, ensuring that the platform is secure, scalable, reliable and delivered according to approved requirements and quality standards.

Salary budget: up to AED 15,000

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the work of external software developers and technical service providers.
• Translate business requirements into clear technical specifications and development tasks.
• Review the overall system architecture, database structure, APIs and third-party integrations.
• Monitor development progress, timelines, deliverables and technical risks.
• Review source code quality, development practices and technical documentation.
• Ensure that completed features meet the approved scope and acceptance criteria.
• Oversee testing, quality assurance, bug tracking and technical acceptance.
• Manage AI integrations, including automated assessments, tutoring, recommendations, grading and user support.
• Ensure the platform is designed to support significant growth in users and activity.
• Oversee cloud infrastructure, hosting, system performance, backups and disaster recovery.
• Review cybersecurity, data protection, access controls and system permissions.
• Ensure the company maintains ownership and administrative control of source code, repositories, hosting, databases, domains and third-party accounts.
• Coordinate platform releases, updates, maintenance and technical improvements.
• Identify technical problems early and recommend practical solutions.
• Prepare clear progress and risk reports for senior management.
• Support the recruitment and management of additional technical team members when required.
• Establish appropriate development, testing, deployment and documentation procedures.

Required Technical Knowledge

The candidate should have strong knowledge and practical experience in:

• Web and mobile application development
• SaaS platforms and learning management systems
• System architecture and software design
• Cloud infrastructure such as AWS, Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud
• Backend and frontend development technologies
• Database architecture, security, optimization and backups
• APIs and third-party system integrations
• Artificial intelligence and large language model integrations
• Payment gateway and subscription-system integrations
• Cybersecurity, encryption, authentication and access control
• GitHub or similar source-code management platforms
• DevOps, CI/CD, testing and deployment processes
• System scalability, performance monitoring and cost optimization
• Data privacy and secure handling of user information
• Quality assurance and user acceptance testing

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related field.
• Relevant professional or postgraduate qualifications are an advantage.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in software development, technical project management or solutions architecture.
• Demonstrated experience managing outsourced or external software-development teams.
• Experience delivering SaaS, education technology, marketplace or other large-scale digital platforms.
• Practical experience with AI-powered products or LLM integrations is strongly preferred.
• Ability to review technical architecture and source code, even if the person is not responsible for daily programming.
• Strong understanding of the complete software-development lifecycle.
• Excellent project management, communication, documentation and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate technical matters clearly to non-technical management.

Preferred Certifications

The following certifications are advantageous but not mandatory:

• AWS, Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud certification
• Project Management Professional (PMP)
• Scrum Master or Agile certification
• TOGAF or another architecture certification
• Cybersecurity or information-security certification

Reporting Line

The position will report directly to senior management and act as the company's internal technical representative.
