Job Introduction

Frequentis Group with headquarters in Vienna is an international supplier of communication and information systems for control centres with safety-critical tasks. Worldwide, more than 500 customers in some 150 countries with more than 40,000 workstations already trust our know-how and proven experience.

In the Public Safety division, you’ll be working on highly complex communications and information solutions for control centres used by the police, fire service, ambulance service and other emergency services. This isn’t about run-of-the-mill IT. Together, we ensure that the systems work – even in an emergency. Always.

Why this role is special …

With us, you won’t be working on standard solutions, but on systems that must function in an emergency. You’ll have a direct influence on the technical design of major international projects and will develop solutions used by dispatchers and emergency services personnel on a daily basis. If you want to do more than just operate complex IT and communications systems – if you want to take technical responsibility for them and actively shape them – you’ll find the right challenge here.

You’ll operate at the architectural and management level, make key technical decisions and delegate operational implementation to the relevant specialist teams. In doing so, you’ll maintain an overview of the whole picture without getting involved in day-to-day engineering or implementation yourself.

Help shape the communication systems that emergency services rely on when every second counts.

Key Tasks

  • You will develop technical solution architectures for safety-critical communication systems.
  • You will analyse complex customer requirements and translate them into actionable technical concepts.
  • You will assess technical risks and ensure that security, safety and quality requirements are met.
  • You will coordinate interdisciplinary engineering teams and set the technical direction.
  • You will act as a sparring partner for clients, project management, product management and development.
  • You will be the technical point of contact and will be responsible for the technical integrity of the entire solution throughout the entire project lifecycle.
  • You will support international projects deployed by some of the most demanding organisations worldwide.

Key Qualifications

  • Several years’ experience in a technical project environment, for example as a Lead/Senior Systems Engineer, Systems Architect, Technical Project Manager or Technical Solutions Manager.
  • In-depth expertise in networking, VoIP, virtualisation (VMware, OpenShift, container solutions, etc.) and Windows-based enterprise environments.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and to engage a range of stakeholders.
  • Enthusiasm for making technical decisions and taking on responsibility.
  • Very good command of German and English.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 10–20 per cent of the time for international client projects; if you prefer not to travel far, you can work within the DACH region.
