
Fondren Library at Rice University seeks a Technical Services Operations Assistant The position’s primary functions are to support the Technical Services Department through preservation activities, purchasing, facilities coordination, and departmental operations. Working under the supervision of the Preservation Librarian, the incumbent performs a variety of tasks related to the preservation of library materials in support of the department's preservation program. The position also serves as the department’s central administrative resource, acting as the primary point of contact while coordinating office operations, communications, and administrative support.
The ideal candidate has a positive attitude and works effectively with colleagues across a wide range of functions. They possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, initiative, and a service-oriented approach. They also demonstrate an interest in learning about preservation and the work of a library technical services department.

Workplace Requirements
This position is exclusively on-site, necessitating all duties to be performed in-person at Fondren Library. Per Rice policy 440, work arrangements may be subject to change.
Hiring Range
This is a full-time, benefits-eligible position, and the hiring salary is $18.00 - $19.50 an hour, depending on experience and skill set. Non-Exempt (hourly) positions under FLSA are eligible for overtime.
