About the role

The Technical Services Engineer is responsible for providing national oversight and engineering support for the assets owned and operated by the Energy Solutions division of Ampol. This includes support for development and maintenance of electrical installation standards, the development of safe working practices, support for project design, implementation and commissioning, providing subject matter expertise, and support for troubleshooting and maintenance activities. It also includes exploring and testing new opportunities / systems and generating appropriate documentation for their implementation.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development of Energy Solutions technical standards and develop technical documentation
  • Work on building out processes, procedures and guideline documents
  • Work on continuous improvement of existing processes and updating requirements
  • Write technical documentation, work instructions and procedural processes.
  • Work on R&D projects that support the expansion of approved electrical hardware.
  • Work with developing AI capability to expand accessibility of technical standards across Energy Solutions.

Qualificatons & Experience

  • Hold a tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 2-3 years experience in Electrical Engineering Design.
  • Foundational knowledge and understanding of electrical components, electrical design principles and electrical safe systems of work & best practices.
  • Understanding of Electric Vehicle Charging infrastructure and integrated systems.
  • Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in documenting and developing reports to support development of Technical Standards.
  • Fundamental proficiency in CAD software such as AutoDesk Products or other CAD software.
  • Good analytical skills to be able to review data and formulate determinations.
