Technical Service Specialist – Coatings Solutions

Working at the intersection of technology, innovation, and customer engagement, Technical Service Specialists provide expert support across a wide range of industries, including Automotive OEM, Commercial Vehicles, Industrial Manufacturing, Agricultural Equipment, Construction Equipment, Rail, and Automotive Refinish.

This evergreen opportunity is designed to build our pipeline of technical talent for current and future openings across our Mobility, Industrial, and Refinish businesses throughout India.

What You'll Do

As a Technical Service Specialist, you will serve as a trusted technical advisor to customers, helping them optimize coating processes, resolve technical challenges, and successfully implement new products and technologies.

Technical Support & Customer Success

• Provide expert technical support for coatings products and application processes.
• Partner closely with customers to improve product performance, quality, and operational efficiency.
• Investigate and resolve product, process, color, and application-related issues.
• Act as a trusted technical resource for key customer accounts.

Product Implementation & Commercialization

• Support the launch and implementation of new products and technologies at customer facilities.
• Conduct product trials and validation activities in collaboration with Technology and Commercial teams.
• Drive product approvals and specification wins with OEM and industrial customers.
• Support successful commercialization of innovative coating solutions.

Process Improvement & Standardization

• Analyze customer coating processes and identify opportunities for optimization.
• Develop and implement standard operating procedures and best practices.
• Drive process consistency, quality improvements, and productivity enhancements.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across customer operations.

Training & Technical Development

• Deliver technical training programs for customers, distributors, bodyshops, OEMs, and production teams.
• Conduct audits and process reviews to ensure compliance with recommended application standards.
• Share technical expertise and best practices to improve customer capabilities.

Project & Relationship Management

• Build strong relationships with customers at multiple organizational levels.
• Coordinate cross-functional projects involving Sales, Technology, Operations, Marketing, and Supply Chain teams.
• Monitor project progress and ensure timely execution of customer initiatives.
• Maintain regular communication regarding technical performance, project milestones, and improvement opportunities.

Data Analysis & Reporting

• Monitor application performance, paint consumption, process data, and quality metrics.
• Analyze technical data and provide recommendations to customers and internal stakeholders.
• Prepare technical reports, findings, and improvement plans.
• Support data-driven decision making through accurate performance tracking and reporting.

What We're Looking For

Education

• Ideally Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Paint Technology, Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related technical discipline.

Experience

• 3-8 years of experience in technical service, coating applications, manufacturing processes, product development, or related technical-commercial roles.
• Experience within one or more of the following industries is highly desirable:
  • Coatings and Paints
  • Automotive OEM
  • Commercial Vehicles
  • Automotive Refinish
  • Industrial Manufacturing
  • Agricultural Equipment
  • Construction Equipment
  • Rail Transportation

Technical Expertise

• Knowledge of coating technologies, paint formulation, and application processes.
• Understanding of manufacturing and coating line operations.
• Experience supporting product launches, trials, and process improvements.
• Exposure to troubleshooting color, appearance, and application-related issues.
• Experience working with customers in a technical support environment.
