Medical Device Repair Technician

Position Summary

The Medical Device Repair Technician is responsible for performing inspection, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of medical deviceswhile ensuring compliance with quality, regulatory, and company requirements. The role also supports technical documentation, training

activities, customer asset management, and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure effective service operations and customer

satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Repair and Technical Service Operations

  • Perform inspection, troubleshooting, repair, calibration, testing, and final verification of medical devices in accordance with

established procedures and quality standards.

  • Execute repair activities and ensure accurate documentation of service and repair records.
  • Support product, process, and technology transfers between external service providers and internal operations.
  • Maintain equipment, tools, and test systems required for repair activities.

Technical and Operational Support

  • Provide hardware and software troubleshooting support for medical devices and related systems.
  • Assist in the preparation and implementation of system improvements and process enhancement initiatives.
  • Support special projects and operational activities as assigned.

Documentation and Training Support

  • Prepare, update, and maintain technical documentation, work instructions, reports, and customer communications.
  • Support the planning and coordination of internal and external training programs related to medical devices and repair

processes.

  • Ensure documentation is maintained in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements.

Quality and Compliance

  • Comply with applicable Quality Management System (QMS) requirements, regulatory standards, and company policies.
  • Support quality assurance activities, including the review and disposition process for nonconforming materials and products.
  • Participate in investigations, corrective actions, preventive actions, and continuous improvement activities as required.

Customer Asset Management

  • Support customer asset management activities, including service history records, equipment tracking, and maintenance

coordination.

  • Collaborate with internal teams and customers to address technical issues and support service delivery objectives.
  • Contribute to maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction through effective technical support and communication.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree, technical diploma, or equivalent experience in Electronics, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical

Engineering, or a related technical field.

  • Experience in medical device repair, maintenance, technical service, or a related field preferred.
  • Knowledge of electronic and mechanical troubleshooting techniques.
  • Familiarity with quality systems and regulatory requirements applicable to medical devices is preferred.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and service management systems.
