Job Description

Washington Penn Plastic is a provider of custom polyolefin materials, and our customers convert these materials into a large variety of parts. This position interacts closely with the customer, supports new customer product and tool evaluations and resolves issues which may arise on the processing and application of products supplied to the customer.

• Individual is expected to perform job duties safely and in compliance with documentation

• Individual is expected to perform job duties in compliance with defined management system
requirements.


Duties/Responsibilities


• Schedules and coordinates molding trials with Customers.
• Supplies typical mold process sheets to Customer, as way of introducing the Customer to Washington Penn (WPP)
products.
• Develops molding parameters that improve the Customer's molding cycle and part quality.
• Conduct a mold process training seminar to customer's plant operation personnel.
• Efficiently determines field problems and resolves issues.
• Provides and/or coordinates mold design assistance to existing molds and prototype molds.
• Supplies field knowledge feedback to in-house WPP personnel. A complete report detailing
problems and possible solutions is supplied to in-house personnel.
• Maintains a working knowledge of all WPP custom compounds.
• Updates, with oral or written reports, affected sales persons, MDE's, Product Manager after each
service call.
• Performs in-house studies characterizing WPP product processing performance.
• Performs other duties and assignments as directed by supervisor.
• Expected to be able to run various types of trials such as injection molding, profile extrusion, gas
assist, blow molding, and rotational molding.
• Attend training every 1-2 years to increase self-skill set.


Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelors of Science degree in engineering/chemistry or equivalent with 3-5 years of injection molding
experience.
• Training in Scientific and De-Coupled Molding.
• Must be able to travel to Customer sites, Vendors, and between WPP divisions.
• Skilled in the use of basic computer software, including word-processing and spreadsheets.
• Must be able to speak and write effectively in English.
• Be able to understand & read customer tool drawings
