Job Description

Anton Paar

Our team of Sales Area throughout Mexico, ensuring customer satisfaction with our measuring instruments. To strengthen customer support in México, we are looking for additional team members.

We are seeking a Technical Sales Representative responsible for business development and consultative sales of Rheology and Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) solutions, with a primary focus on Rheology and complementary responsibility for DSC thermal analysis. With a strongly sales-oriented profile with the ability to develop new markets and sufficient technical background to engage with formulators, researchers, quality, process and laboratory personnel, purchasing teams, and management.

Main Responsibilities

  • Commercially develop the Rheology and DSC portfolio within the assigned territory, dedicating most of the sales effort to Rheology solutions.
  • Prospect and develop new customers in sectors such as paints and coatings, polymers, adhesives, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, food, chemicals, petrochemicals, lubricants, batteries, academia, R&D, and quality control.
  • Manage the complete sales cycle: opportunity identification, technical qualification, solution presentation, proposal preparation, negotiation, and closing.
  • Identify rheological applications related to viscosity and flow curves, yield stress, thixotropy, viscoelasticity, formulation stability, and time-, temperature-, and frequency-dependent behavior.
  • Identify DSC opportunities for the characterization of thermal transitions, glass transition temperature (Tg), melting, crystallization, curing, oxidative stability, polymorphism, compatibility, and purity, depending on the application.
  • Deliver technical-commercial presentations and coordinate demonstrations of rheometers and DSC calorimeters, with support from application specialists when necessary.
  • Advise customers on selecting the appropriate solution according to sample, formulation, process, temperature range, test method, level of automation, and measurement objectives.
  • Develop long-term relationships with formulators, researchers, laboratory, quality, R&D, production and process personnel, purchasing teams, and decision-makers.
  • Meet quarterly and annual sales targets, as well as the commercial KPIs defined by management.
  • Keep the CRM updated with opportunities, activities, forecasts, sales follow-up, and pipeline stages.
  • Identify cross-selling opportunities with other company product lines.
  • Provide post-sales follow-up to ensure customer satisfaction, strengthen relationships, and identify new business opportunities.
  • Participate in technical and commercial training, trade shows, seminars, workshops, and specialized events in Mexico and abroad.

Qualifications

  • Professional degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials, Polymers, Food Science/Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Physics, Nanotechnology, or a related field with a strong technical foundation.
  • Minimum of 3 years of B2B technical sales experience, required, preferably in scientific instrumentation, analytical equipment, laboratory equipment, rheometers, viscometers, thermal analysis, or solutions for formulation, R&D, and quality control.
  • Commercial or applications experience in Rheology/Viscometry will be highly valued, as will experience selling instrumentation to industries where formulation and flow behavior are critical variables.
  • Demonstrated experience in prospecting, opening new accounts, developing opportunities, and building a pipeline; we are not looking for a profile limited solely to maintaining existing accounts.
  • Ability to understand a technical need and convert it into a value-based commercial proposal while maintaining focus on opportunity progression, negotiation, and closing.
  • Ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders: formulators, researchers, engineers, quality, production and laboratory personnel, purchasing teams, and management.
  • Highly results-oriented profile, with the discipline to meet objectives and systematically follow up on opportunities.
  • Proficiency with CRM/ERP systems, forecasting, and commercial follow-up methodologies.
  • Willingness to travel frequently within Mexico and internationally.
  • Valid driving capability and willingness to travel by road.
  • Intermediate conversational English required for training and technical communication.

Preferred Experience

Priority will be given to candidates with direct experience in Rheology or Viscometry, even if they do not yet have specific DSC experience.

  • Sales, application, or technical use of rotational/oscillatory rheometers, laboratory viscometers, or systems for flow and viscoelasticity characterization.
  • Development, formulation, or quality control of paints, coatings, inks, adhesives, asphalt, cosmetics, pharmaceutical products, food products, or chemical formulations.
  • Rheological testing such as flow curves, yield stress, thixotropy, amplitude/frequency/temperature sweeps, structural recovery, creep, or relaxation.
  • Characterization of polymers, elastomers, resins, melts, slurries, suspensions, emulsions, gels, pastes, or battery materials.
  • Experience in thermal analysis, DSC, DMA, TGA, or related techniques will be considered an advantage, but is not a mandatory requirement.
  • Knowledge of DSC applications in polymers or pharmaceuticals, including Tg, melting, crystallization, curing, stability, polymorphism, or purity.

The priority is to find a strong technical salesperson in Rheology. DSC knowledge can be developed through technical training and support from application specialists.

Additional Information

We Offer:

  • Competitive salary, performance bonus plan, and uncapped commissions.
  • Attractive benefits package exceeding legal requirements.
  • Work tools (laptop, cell phone, and company car).
  • Ongoing training on our product lines.
  • Opportunities for development both nationally and internationally.
