About the role

We are seeking an experienced Technical Sales Manager to drive the growth of Kerry's Smoke Solutions business across Southeast Asia. This is a highly visible techno-commercial role that combines deep expertise in meat processing with customer-facing sales and business development responsibilities.

Working closely with Commercial, RDA, Marketing, and Customer teams, you will partner with meat processors to optimize their manufacturing processes, improve product quality, and unlock value through Kerry's smoke technology solutions. Beyond smoke solutions, you will identify opportunities to expand Kerry's broader portfolio within processed meats, including functional ingredients, taste, preservation, and processing solutions.

This role is ideal for an experienced meat processing professional, technical service specialist, or ingredient sales professional who enjoys solving customer challenges and influencing business growth.

Key responsibilities

Customer Engagement & Business Development

  • Partner with customers to understand their manufacturing processes, production challenges, and business objectives.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities while expanding existing customer relationships across Southeast Asia.
  • Deliver compelling technical presentations, workshops, and demonstrations that showcase the value of Kerry's smoke solutions and wider processed meat portfolio.
  • Support commercial teams in developing strategic customer growth plans and converting opportunities into sustainable business.

Technical Consultation & Application Support

  • Evaluate customers' existing meat processing operations and recommend process improvements using Kerry technologies.
  • Conduct plant audits, product evaluations, and technical assessments to identify optimization opportunities.
  • Lead product application trials and equipment demonstrations at customer facilities.
  • Troubleshoot processing challenges related to smoking, cooking, yield, texture, colour, flavour, and shelf life.
  • Provide expert technical guidance on ingredient functionality, formulations, thermal processing, and manufacturing efficiency.

Smoke Technology Leadership

  • Serve as the regional technical expert for Kerry's smoke solutions portfolio.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of smoke generation technologies, smoke application methods, smokehouse operations, and thermal processing systems.
  • Assess market trends and customer needs to ensure the smoke portfolio remains relevant and competitive within Southeast Asia.
  • Share market insights and customer feedback to support future innovation and business strategy.

Equipment & Process Support

  • Support installation, commissioning, validation, and optimization of smoke equipment at customer sites.
  • Provide customer training on equipment operation, best practices, and preventative maintenance.
  • Assist customers in maximizing operational efficiency and product consistency through process improvements.

Technical Reporting & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Prepare detailed technical reports summarizing project outcomes, trial results, recommendations, and commercial impact.
  • Develop cost-benefit analyses and ROI calculations to demonstrate value creation for customers.
  • Collaborate closely with Commercial, RDA, Regulatory, Marketing, and Operations teams to deliver customer solutions and accelerate business growth.

Qualifications and skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Meat Science, Food Science, Food Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience within the meat processing industry, food ingredients industry, or related sectors.
  • Demonstrated expertise in processed meat manufacturing and meat processing operations.
  • Strong knowledge of ingredient functionality, formulations, and processing equipment used in meat production.
  • Hands-on experience working with one or more of the following
  • Ground meat products and Emulsified products (sausages, frankfurters, luncheon meats)
  • Restructured meat products, Injected meat products (ham, bacon, poultry)
  • Experience conducting plant trials, troubleshooting production issues, and delivering technical customer support.
  • Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience in technical sales, business development, customer-facing technical support, or application management roles.
  • Working knowledge of smokehouses, smoke generation systems, thermal processing schedules, smoking and cooking technologies.
  • Experience selling or supporting ingredients, smoke solutions, casings, packaging, processing aids, or equipment into meat processing customers.
  • Regional exposure across Southeast Asia markets.
