The Technical Sales Expert is responsible for collecting application data from paper machines and selecting suitable products from Voith’s mechanical roll service and roll cover lines. This role supports sales, product research, and troubleshooting, while collaborating with customers, manufacturing, and replacement roll teams to meet sales and order goals. The candidate must reside in the Southeastern United States, as this position covers that region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support mechanical roll services, roll covers, and replacement roll products through customer visits, calls, and data collection.
  • Lead roll MRS and cover application support.
  • Collaborate with R&D and global product teams on new product launches.
  • Help investigate product issues, failures, and customer claims.
  • Assist production with new product implementation and standardization.
  • Contribute to sales efforts and TRM customer market basket development.
  • Attend regional sales meetings.
  • Travel 50–75% to customer sites, manufacturing facilities, and internal meetings.

Required Skills & Abilities

  • Strong verbal and written communication.
  • Excellent sales, customer service, and organizational skills.
  • Effective time management and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, JDE, and scheduling tools.

Education & Experience

  • 3–5 years of experience in roll cover or MRS applications.
  • Knowledge of paper machine rolls and papermaking principles.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field preferred; 2 years of higher education is a plus.
  • Familiarity with paper mill safety and etiquette.

Physical Requirements

  • Regularly required to sit, walk, and stand.
  • Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Use of PPE (safety glasses, hearing protection, etc.) required in designated areas.
