Job Description

Role's Objectives:

  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to promote and grow SGS's Food Contact Materials, Packaging Materials, and Sustainability Services—in the assigned territory, ensuring achievement of assigned sales targets.
  • Lead onsite technical sales activities by engaging directly with food manufacturers, packaging producers, and retailers to communicate standards, testing requirements, regulatory compliance, and sustainability pathways.
  • Provide onsite technical guidance, preliminary assessments, and customized testing and certification solutions to strengthen SGS's role as a trusted technical partner and drive revenue growth.
  • Act as a vital liaison between clients and SGS technical teams by capturing onsite requirements, identifying risks, and translating them into accurate and actionable testing and sustainability proposals.
  • Manage all sales-related tasks—including sales activities, marketing initiatives, client relationship building, and service quality oversight—to support business expansion and deliver best-in-class customer experiences.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Visits to food contact materials (FCM) manufacturers, packaging producers, and retail clients to assess production processes, technical capabilities, compliance risks, and sustainability requirements.
  • Perform initial technical assessments, identify potential non‑conformities, and recommend suitable testing solutions.
  • Serve as the primary technical point of contact during onsite meetings, audits, and factory walkthroughs.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, ensuring customer satisfaction and repeat business to improve sales revenue.
  • Create plans to visit clients or to contact them by phones/ emails and implement these plans. Conduct product presentations and demonstrations to clients, highlighting the benefits and value of testing services.
  • To prepare/ suggest selling prices, discount levels to key clients for Sales Manager's approval.
  • Develop marketing strategy/marketing activities/ plans to penetrate to different segments of the market.
  • Collect market information. Prepare and submit detailed sales reports, forecasts, and market analysis (both about industries and competitors) in order to suggest proper selling schemes to Sales Manager.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, such as technical experts and project managers, to provide clients with accurate and timely information regarding their projects.
  • Coordinate with Customer Service Team and related Section Manager to handle clients' complaints/ claims or collect outstanding debts.
  • Attend industry trade shows, conferences, and networking events to promote our services and expand the client base.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop marketing collateral, promotional materials, and campaigns to support sales efforts.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior sales team members, sharing best practices and techniques for successful sales.
  • Other duties upon requested

Qualifications

  • 'Bachelor's degree in Business, Packaging Technology, Materials Technique, Quality Management, or a related fields.
  • Minimum 1 years of experience in sales of testing services, QA/QC solutions, or technical products—preferably within food packaging materials, materials, or consumer goods industries.
  • Strong technical background combined with excellent sales, communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Customer‑oriented mindset with strong relationship‑building abilities.
  • Good command of English (spoken and written).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
