ABOUT THE ROLE

As we continue to look for more sustainable ways to build, we need world-class talent to join our team. We are seeking an energetic intern with an interest in technical sales support our Cement division. This role bridges commercial strategy, logistics planning, material performance, and customer operations. You will gain hands-on experience in how cement moves from production to market, helping optimize our supply chain efficiency while supporting regional sales strategy. This opportunity will be a 10-week, paid internship beginning June 1, 2027.

This internship will be based in Franklin, TN.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

As a Technical Sales and Strategy Intern, you will gain valuable, hands-on experience and work closely with our team of experienced professionals. Key responsibilities may include:

  • Supply Chain & Logistics Optimization: Analyze logistics networks, dispatch scheduling, and material movement (truck, rail, barge) to identify opportunities for route optimization, cost reduction, and timely delivery of aggregate products
  • Commercial & Market Analysis: Evaluate regional market trends, construction project pipelines, and competitor positioning to support product pricing strategies and sales growth.
  • Customer & Field Engagement: Join sales account managers on client visits and site tours and customer job sites to understand customer needs and build relationship-management skills.
  • Demand Forecasting & Inventory Control: Collaborate with plant operations and sales teams to align product inventory levels with commercial sales forecasts, mitigating supply bottlenecks.
  • Safety Protocols: Assist in the implementation and monitoring of safety protocols and procedures to ensure compliance with Amrize standards.
  • Skill Application: Utilize a range of skills and knowledge in day-to-day operations, working collaboratively to achieve team and company goals.
  • Executive Presentation: At the end of your internship, you'll present your learnings and contributions to our executive leadership team.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for enthusiastic students who meet the following criteria:

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program majoring in Civil Engineering, Economics, Industrial Engineering, Marketing, Concrete Industry Management, or a related field.
  • Strong academic performance
  • Geographic flexibility to work at various sites. Willingness to travel to surrounding states for site and customer visits, with the potential for overnight travel.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • High energy and a proactive approach to tackling new challenges.
  • A team player who can collaborate across different levels of the organization.
  • Willingness to spend significant time in the field and on the road, gaining hands-on experience and firsthand knowledge of our business operations.

SCHEDULE AND ENVIRONMENT

  • Work Schedule: This is an onsite role with a mandatory 40-hour work week, Monday through Friday, working an 8-hour shift each day.
  • Work Environment: You will be working in an office environment with opportunities to visit field sites.
  • Transportation: You will be responsible for your own transportation to and from the worksite.
  • Travel Requirements: 25%. This position will include travel to surrounding states and with the potential for overnight stays.
