Located less than an hour from Hamburg, our Lübeck site serves as our EMEA Customer Interaction and Collaboration Center. It features expanded laboratory and pilot facilities, as well as analytical and sensory capabilities. Additionally, the site includes an on-site training center and meeting rooms designed to welcome and support our customers.

Technical Sales Account Manager Beverage

The Technical Sales Account Manager Beverage brings relevant technical knowledge to customer accounts, helping translate complex client needs into customized solutions. Acting as both a technical advisor and sales representative, the Technical Sales Account Manager identifies growth opportunities, supports product customization, and builds trusted partnerships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical sales support to core customers, key accounts, and distribution partners across the region, including solution recommendations, ongoing technical troubleshooting, attend on-site trials and meetings and manage customer escalations and provide guidance on issue resolution to ensure high customer satisfaction

  • Collaborate with internal teams, including teams in Sales & Account Management and Innovation & R&D, to communicate client requirements and support the creation of tailored product solutions and applications.

  • Deploy the regional Technical Sales strategy and commercial priorities, consistently applying solution-selling principles to grow revenue and margin, strengthen the opportunity pipeline, and deliver differentiated value across priority accounts and categories.

  • Partner closely with Sales Account Managers to build strong customer relationships and execute customer growth plans, including opportunity sizing, prioritization, and probability-based execution.

  • Manage and accelerate the regional opportunity pipeline, overseeing multiple technical projects, prioritizing support across assigned accounts, removing barriers, and ensuring timely delivery and maximum value creation.

  • Capture and communicate market insights (technical, competitive, and commercial) to relevant internal stakeholders to support strategic decision-making and continuous improvement.

  • Present technical insights to clients within the assigned accounts, articulating the benefits and value propositions of solutions while addressing potential concerns.

  • Contribute to developing technical capability and foster high performance within the Technical Sales function by supporting colleagues, identifying capability gaps, improving processes and tools, and promoting strong cross-functional collaboration and customer-centricity.

  • Operate with agility and accountability, adapting to diverse customer needs, ways of working, and regulatory environments while maintaining high standards of quality, compliance, and execution.

  • As a Subject Matter Expert (SME) of an application, when located in one of the facilities/CICC:

  • Support customer projects in the lab for the relevant region: plan, organize, and execute assigned projects and ensure the outcome is timely and effectively granted.

  • When relevant, assist the Category Lead with the development and deployment of EMEA Growth Initiatives, this includes the generation of ideas and development of new concepts.

  • Ensure full adherence to EHS and company standards, actively supporting environmental, health, and safety requirements and participating in continuous improvement initiatives such as the J2EE (Journey to EHSQS Excellence) program.

Your skills and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of relationship management, sales and a key technical/scientific discipline within Technical Service, with full knowledge of methodologies, processes, practices, and atypical issues within Technical Service function.

  • Largely able to operate independently, though may seek guidance on atypical or complex Technical Service issues. Able to coach juniors on technical and operational matters in a specialism.

  • Accountable for own targets.

  • Frequently conducts detailed analysis and investigation to identify customized solutions for customers, determine best options, or suggest improvements to existing methods.

  • This role involves initiating communication with cross-functional teams to address and resolve shared issues, collaborate on processes or transactions, and interpret or clarify technical information to enhance understanding.
