Job Description

PACCAR India is looking for an experienced Technical Research Specialist. This role focuses on delivering accurate solutions to dealer inquiries regarding PACCAR truck parts. It involves leveraging research, analysis, and business tools to identify and provide the correct, saleable part numbers that meet customer needs. Additionally, the role promotes knowledge sharing among customers, peers, and PACCAR divisions to drive part sales and enhance overall customer satisfaction.

PACCAR Parts

PACCAR Parts operates a network of parts distribution centres offering aftermarket support to Kenworth, Peterbilt and DAF dealers and customers around the world. Aftermarket support includes customer call centres operating 24 hours a day throughout the year and technologically advanced systems to enhance inventory control and expedite order processing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Answer research requests using bill of materials, engineering drawings, vendor files, and electronic catalogues to identify saleable replacement parts compatible with original truck systems.
  • Conduct truck chassis analysis to validate the accuracy of customers’ requests. Create a 'part lists' of components required to change out and new parts added. Validate that the requested change and the parts provided will not affect other areas of the truck.
  • Investigate dealer requests. Validate that the request from the dealer is correct for the application of the truck chassis number provided. Determine which part(s) are required based on the information provided by the dealer. Clarify the dealer requests by providing recommendations based on truck knowledge and components.
  • Share knowledge through coaching and training peers.
  • Participate in special projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Comfortable working in shifts to support U.S. business hours

Knowledge & Skills REQUIRED:

  • Education Requirements:
    • Bachelor’s in Engineering, Business or Related field required
  • 1+ years of experience use of MSOffice suite and ability to manage multiple web applications efficiently.
  • Experience in Automotive (Commercial Class 8) bill of materials and blueprint reading skills.
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude (specific truck knowledge desirable)
  • Domain: Automotive, Bill of Material, Customer Experience/Care preferably in Engineering Solutions
