CARIAN is seeking a Technical Recruiter to support hiring across our power and utilities programs. Typical roles include Distribution Project Managers, Transmission and Substation Project Managers, Project Controls Analysts, Schedulers, Cost Engineers, Construction Managers, Data Analysts, and Engineers supporting utility capital programs.
This is a hands-on, production-oriented recruiting role focused on proactive sourcing, candidate engagement, and development of qualified talent pipelines across multiple concurrent searches. Success requires consistent outbound activity, strong candidate judgment, urgency, organization, and the ability to deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
Candidates must reside in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Delaware or Maryland and must be able to attend periodic in-person meetings or training at CARIAN's Somerset, NJ office.
This is a full-time, six-month W-2 contract position. The position may have the opportunity to convert to regular full-time employment based on individual performance and business needs.
Responsibilities
Proactively source, engage, and screen candidates for technical and professional roles within the power and utilities sector
Execute consistent outbound sourcing and outreach to develop qualified candidate pipelines for active and anticipated hiring needs
Utilize LinkedIn Recruiter, job boards, direct sourcing, professional networks, and other recruiting channels to identify and engage talent
Identify and target candidates from utilities, engineering and consulting firms, contractors, and other relevant industry organizations
Conduct initial candidate screenings and assess experience, qualifications, compensation expectations, availability, and overall fit
Present qualified candidates to hiring managers with clear and accurate candidate summaries
Partner with hiring managers to understand role requirements, priorities, and target candidate profiles
Manage multiple open requisitions simultaneously while maintaining appropriate speed, quality, and candidate communication
Build and maintain pipelines of passive candidates for recurring and hard-to-fill positions
Track recruiting activity and pipeline metrics, including sourcing activity, candidate conversations, submissions, interviews, offers, and hires
Coordinate interviews and maintain candidate engagement throughout the recruiting process through offer acceptance
Maintain accurate and timely candidate and requisition information within the Applicant Tracking System
Qualifications
2+ years of recruiting, talent acquisition, or sourcing experience
Experience recruiting for engineering, construction, utilities, infrastructure, or other technical roles strongly preferred
Demonstrated ability to proactively source and engage passive candidates through outbound recruiting efforts
Experience using LinkedIn Recruiter and an Applicant Tracking System strongly preferred
Strong candidate screening and assessment skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively engage candidates and hiring managers
Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple searches and priorities in a fast-paced environment
Comfortable working in a performance-driven environment with clear activity, pipeline, and hiring expectations
Ability to work independently and maintain consistent productivity in a remote environment
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant recruiting experience will be considered

Compensation
The hourly pay range for this role is $25.00-$30.00 per hour. This range represents a good-faith estimate at the time of posting. Actual compensation will depend on experience, qualifications, skills, and other factors permitted by law.
This position is a six-month W-2 contract role and is not eligible for CARIAN's standard employee benefits package. Any benefits or leave required under applicable law will be provided. The position may have the opportunity to convert to regular full-time employment, which would include eligibility for CARIAN's applicable employee benefits and compensation programs.
