Based in our Tampere Solution Line office, you will lead high-impact NPI and New Technology Introduction (NTI) programs for our industry-leading STATCOM solutions.

Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced Technical R&D Project Manager to join our global FACTS (Flexible AC Transmission Systems) New Product Introduction (NPI) team. Based in our Tampere Solution Line office, you will lead high-impact NPI and New Technology Introduction (NTI) programs for our industry-leading STATCOM solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Program Leadership: Manage the full lifecycle of complex, large-scale R&D and NPI programs from initiation to delivery.
  • Operational Excellence: Maintain rigorous control over project scope, costs, and schedules.
  • Stakeholder Management: Effectively navigate a global, cross-functional, and multi-located team environment, ensuring alignment across internal and external stakeholders.
  • Innovation & Technical Oversight: Proactively contribute to the development of power electronics and control systems; provide technical leadership to drive creative solutions.
  • Continuous Improvement: Utilize established R&D processes, problem-solving methodologies, and project management tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, Imagine 2).
  • Strategic Prioritization: Balance competing project demands with a clear focus on customer value and long-term business objectives.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Experience: Proven track record in managing R&D projects, preferably within power electronics, control systems, or high-voltage transmission sectors. Have minimum 3 years experience working with power electronics devices and preferable some RD project management experience already gained
  • Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead large, multi-disciplinary, international teams with a strong emphasis on influence and consensus-building.
  • Technical Literacy: Solid understanding of power systems, control platforms, and product development lifecycles.
  • Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English; ability to present complex technical topics to diverse stakeholders.
  • Asset: Previous experience or certification in cybersecurity protocols for industrial systems.
  • Technology domain knowledge: Have a good understanding of power electronics, complex technical MMC products, Valves, STATCOMs , HVDC or other IGBT based products.
