Your Job

We are seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager (TPM) to lead the development and commercialization of next-generation coherent optical transceiver products, including 1.6T coherent solutions for AI data center interconnect (DCI), metro, and long-haul optical networking applications.

This role requires strong technical expertise in coherent optical module architecture, hardware design, system integration, and cross-functional project leadership. The TPM will serve as the technical and program leader, driving product development from concept through mass production while coordinating activities across R&D, Product Management, Operations, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Customers.

What You Will Do

  • Technical Leadership
    • Lead end-to-end development of coherent optical transceiver products, including 800G/1.6T coherent modules.
    • Drive technical decision-making across optical, electrical, hardware, mechanical, firmware, and system integration domains.
    • Understand coherent transmission architecture, including DSP, optics engine, laser technologies, FEC, host interfaces, and module packaging.
    • Review and assess technical risks, performance trade-offs, and design feasibility throughout product development.
    • Support architecture reviews, design reviews, qualification reviews, and product release decisions.
  • Project Management
    • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, milestones, and resource allocation.
    • Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure project execution aligns with technical, quality, schedule, and cost objectives.
    • Track program progress and proactively manage risks, issues, dependencies, and change requests.
    • Establish program governance and provide regular project status updates to senior leadership.
    • Drive problem-solving activities during development, qualification, and production ramp-up phases.
  • Customer & Business Interface
    • Collaborate with Product Management to translate customer requirements into technical development plans.
    • Act as a key technical interface between customers and internal development teams.
    • Support customer technical reviews, design-in activities, and product qualification efforts.
    • Coordinate customer issue resolution and technical escalation management.
  • Product Development & NPI
    • Lead the New Product Introduction (NPI) process from concept to volume production.
    • Coordinate product validation, reliability testing, system interoperability testing, and manufacturing readiness reviews.
    • Work closely with Operations and Supply Chain teams to ensure component readiness and production scalability.
    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve product quality, development efficiency, and time-to-market.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Electronics Engineering, Optical Engineering, Telecommunications, Physics, or related disciplines.
  • 8+ years of experience in optical communication product development.
  • Proven experience leading complex product development projects in optical modules, telecom systems, networking equipment, or related industries.
  • Strong understanding of coherent optical communication technologies and transceiver architectures.
  • Experience with high-speed hardware design, signal integrity, power integrity, and system integration.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional teams and multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical thinking, risk management, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in both technical and business environments.
  • Fluent English communication skills for global collaboration.

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Direct experience with coherent optical modules such as 400ZR, ZR+, 800G Coherent, or 1.6T Coherent products.
  • Understanding of coherent DSP, optical engines, silicon photonics, EML lasers, coherent receivers, and packaging technologies.
  • Experience working with major telecom, cloud, or data center customers.
  • PMP certification or equivalent project management experience.
  • Familiarity with PLM, NPI, Stage-Gate, and Agile development methodologies.
  • Experience supporting global development teams across multiple regions.
