Technical Project Manager - RFID

Hybrid position, combining onsite/office work with farm visits (typically once or twice a week) to validate product performance in field

As a Technical Project Manager, you will oversee the entire lifecycle of our Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) identification solutions - from development through production and ongoing management. You will manage existing product lines and serve as the primary technical liaison between local Australian teams, including customer support and production, and our global Research and Development (R&D) and engineering departments. This role requires a hands-on, practical approach, including regular site visits to farms and production facilities to ensure product success in real-world environments.
What You Will Do
Key Responsibilities
Act as the technical point of contact for internal teams (customer support, production, operations) and external stakeholders, including subcontractors and global Research and
Development (R&D) and engineering teams
Serve as the primary liaison between local customer support, production lines, subcontractors, and global R&D and engineering teams to ensure alignment and effective collaboration
Manage the full lifecycle of Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) identification products from development through production and ongoing management
Conduct regular site visits to farms and production facilities to gather insights, validate performance, and ensure product quality in real-world environments
Facilitate effective communication and coordination across matrix-based teams including hardware, software, subcontractors, and operations to deliver on project objectives
Apply strong organizational skills to plan, prioritize, and drive execution to meet project timelines and business objectives
What You Must have
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
Previous experience with Radio Frequency (RF) and RFID technologies is a strong advantage
Strong background in Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) and/or Radio Frequency (RF); experience from other industries outside Animal Health are welcome where RF and project management expertise are proven
Extensive experience in project lifecycle management and/or program management of multidisciplinary products
Experience working in a matrix-based organization with cross-functional teams including hardware, software, subcontractors, operations, and customer support
Hands-on experience in product development and New Product Introduction (NPI) involving hardware, RF, firmware, and mechanical components
Strong understanding of operational processes for NPI and sustaining products, including manufacturing operations, supply chain planning, costing, sourcing, contract manufacturers/Original
Equipment Manufacturers (OEM), supplier quality, and related functions needed to drive successful commercialization of new and existing products
Willingness and ability to conduct site visits to farms and production facilities as required
Demonstrated problem-solving skills and a practical, hands-on approach to resolving technical and operational challenges
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to act as a technical liaison between teams and stakeholders
