Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager to lead the successful planning, execution, and delivery of technology projects. The ideal candidate will combine strong project management expertise with a solid technical background in microservices architecture and cloud-native development. This role requires proactive stakeholder management, effective risk mitigation, and the ability to drive cross-functional teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Project & Delivery Management

• Plan, manage, and execute end-to-end technical projects and programmes, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.
• Define project scope, objectives, milestones, timelines, and resource requirements.
• Monitor project progress and delivery metrics, ensuring adherence to schedule, budget, and quality standards.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams including engineering, architecture, QA, DevOps, and business stakeholders.

Risk & Issue Management

• Identify, assess, and manage project risks throughout the project lifecycle.
• Develop and implement risk mitigation and contingency plans to minimise delivery impact.
• Proactively track and resolve issues, dependencies, and roadblocks affecting project execution.
• Escalate critical risks and issues appropriately while driving resolution across teams.

Stakeholder Communication & Governance

• Provide regular project status updates, progress reports, and key metrics to stakeholders and leadership teams.
• Facilitate governance reviews, steering committee meetings, and project status discussions.
• Manage stakeholder expectations through transparent communication and effective escalation management.
• Ensure alignment between business objectives and technical execution.

Technical Leadership & Coordination

• Collaborate with technical teams to translate business requirements into actionable delivery plans.
• Support architectural discussions and technical decision-making related to microservices and cloud platforms.
• Ensure adherence to technology standards, security requirements, and best practices.
• Work closely with engineering and DevOps teams to drive efficient release planning and deployment activities.

Skill Requirements

Project Management Skills

• Strong experience managing complex technical projects and programmes.
• Proven ability to drive project execution, prioritisation, and successful delivery.
• Expertise in project planning, scheduling, tracking, and reporting.
• Experience with Agile, Scrum, Kanban, or hybrid delivery methodologies.

Risk Management

• Demonstrated experience in risk identification, assessment, mitigation, and issue resolution.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to proactively manage dependencies, blockers, and delivery challenges.

Stakeholder Management & Communication

• Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience working with senior leadership, business stakeholders, and technical teams.

Ability to influence decisions and drive cross-functional collaboration

Other Requirements

Technical Expertise

• Strong understanding of Microservices Architecture and distributed systems.
• Knowledge of Cloud Platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Understanding of APIs, containerisation (Docker), orchestration platforms (Kubernetes), and CI/CD practices.
• Familiarity with cloud-native application development, scalability, security, and performance considerations.
• Ability to engage effectively with architects, developers, and DevOps engineers on technical discussions.
