Role Purpose

The Technical Project Manager will lead the delivery of projects across development, systems, cloud engineering, and networks. The role blends strong project management capability with a solid technical grounding, enabling effective collaboration with engineering leads and subject matter experts. While the role does not involve hands-on engineering, the successful candidate will be comfortable with concepts such as APIs, system integrations, databases, cloud platforms, and modern infrastructure practices. They will guide projects such as system migrations, application decommissioning, and platform retirements, ensuring delivery is timely, well-coordinated, and minimally disruptive to the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead delivery of technical projects, working closely with development leads, systems engineers, cloud engineers, and network specialists to achieve successful outcomes.

  • Manage system migration, application decommissioning, and platform retirement projects, ensuring dependencies, risks, and impacts are clearly understood and managed.

  • Conduct gap analysis to identify technical and process gaps and define remediation steps required to support successful decommissioning and migration.

  • Develop and maintain transition roadmaps, sequencing migrations and retirements to minimise business impact.

  • Be able to read and understand API specifications, system designs, and integration documents to a level sufficient for project coordination and risk identification.

  • Coordinate across multiple technical domains, ensuring alignment between business objectives and engineering delivery.

  • Maintain accountability for project schedules, resourcing, risks, and milestones, escalating issues as appropriate.

  • Translate technical issues into business impacts for stakeholders, ensuring clear understanding of delivery risks and trade-offs.

  • Ensure all projects comply with security, compliance, and documentation standards.

  • Assist change management stakeholders, ensuring effective knowledge transfer and operational readiness for BAU teams.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Proven experience in technical project management, ideally within IT infrastructure, software development, or cloud environments.

  • Strong technical literacy — able to understand and discuss concepts such as APIs, system integrations, databases, cloud platforms, Kubernetes/containers, and CI/CD pipelines.

  • Demonstrated experience leading system migration and decommissioning projects involving multiple teams or platforms.

  • Ability to work effectively with technical leads across development, systems, cloud engineering, and networks.

  • Excellent organisational and communication skills with the ability to bridge technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Strong problem-solving, risk management, and decision-making skills.

  • Familiarity with project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, or Waterfall).

  • Project Management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, Agile).

  • Experience with major cloud providers (AWS).

  • Exposure to enterprise-scale platform migrations and consolidations.

  • Experience working in regulated industries (e.g., telecommunications, finance, or government).

On Offer

  • Free Home Broadband

  • Free Mobile SIM plan

  • Flexibility – 3 days/week in the office

  • Lunch on Wednesdays, snacks, donuts and more!

  • Diverse and inclusive culture

  • Gain skills and build relationships to succeed in the telco and tech industries, at Superloop and beyond.
