The Opportunity

Be part of Hitachi Energy’s R&D Technology community and contribute to shaping a more sustainable energy future. This role is based at our Zaragoza (Spain) R&D center, a key hub for dry-type transformer technologies, uniquely positioned close to manufacturing and testing teams

As R&D Project Manager, you will lead innovation-driven projects focused on performance, reliability, and competitiveness of dry-type distribution transformers. You will work in a highly collaborative, international environment, partnering with global R&D, engineering, manufacturing, quality, and testing teams

This is a role for someone who thrives in execution, enjoys working close to the product, and can connect technical development with project delivery excellence You will continuously develop your skills in project management, stakeholder coordination, and R&D methodologies.

How you’ll make an impact

  • Lead end-to-end R&D projects from planning to delivery.

  • Ensure scope, timing, budget, and quality targets are achieved.

  • Contribute to the definition and validation of new technologies and product improvements

  • Coordinate requirements with engineering, manufacturing, testing, quality, and global R&D teams

  • Enable effective cross-functional and international collaboration

  • Maintain project schedules, cost sheets, technical files, and reports

  • Manage risks, changes, and stakeholder expectations throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Act as a clear and reliable communication partner for all stakeholders.

Your background

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Industrial, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.

  • Experience in project management within industrial, engineering, or R&D environments.

  • Solid knowledge or strong interest in transformers or electrical products

  • Experience using project management tools and methodologies (e.g. MS Project, Agile principles).

  • Strong communication, teamwork, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Fluency in English and Spanish, written and spoken.
