About this role

We are looking for an established mechanical engineer experienced in elements of product development and qualification activities. The individual would be working in a commercial HVAC (Chiller) product development team and be responsible for overseeing product development and qualification activities. The engineer will work with the team in developing solutions that best meet the local/global market needs by integrating multiple technologies in the product. To do this, the engineer must have working knowledge of the HVAC&R system design, refrigerants, compression technologies, vapor compression system modeling, heat transfer, and pressure vessel design

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage product concept selections, system integration, design, layout, development, testing, and evaluation of mechanical and electro-mechanical devices, systems, sub-systems, controls, while meeting standards of regulations, safety, quality, and other KPIs.
  • Implement strategies for product development activities including engineering studies, feasibility studies, cost estimates, implementation of standard and non-standard specifications, and development of performance or maintenance requirements.
  • Execute test and qualification for systems, sub-systems, and components. Review test results in relation to design or rated specifications and test objectives and direct modification of equipment to meet specifications.
  • Recommend and implement improvements in product design (new and existing).
  • Provide support and guidance on existing products. Communicates and collaborates with quality clinic and related departments to ensure product quality.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience in HVAC&R

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering
  • A solid combination of analytical and experimental experience with product knowledge
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and mentorship skills
  • Experience in ASHRAE/AHRI committees preferred
