iDE is an international nonprofit dedicated to combating poverty in the developing world not through handouts, but by helping rural households access the tools and knowledge they need to increase their income and improve their health and well-being. iDE has 40 years of experience and programs in 11 countries in Africa, South Asia, South East Asia, and Central America.
IDE's vision, to catalyze the power of entrepreneurship to allow millions of people to lift themselves out of poverty, is ambitious and bold. We need a person who is, first and foremost, passionate about this vision.
Our technical work takes a market-based, multi-sectoral approach to empowering rural communities. We design and scale sustainable solutions across Agriculture (boosting smallholder crop yields and market access) and WASH (delivering climate-resilient water and sanitation products) and Nutrition (improving household food security and health outcomes through diversified, market-driven food systems). This foundation is deeply integrated with Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) and Women’s Entrepreneurship, ensuring women and marginalized groups are active leaders and business owners in local value chains.
The Global technical teams offer strategic guidance and support across the global portfolio to drive integrated, climate-resilient, and inclusive market programming.

iDE is a global development organization that co-creates with foundations, governments, individuals, for-profits, and nonprofits to develop lasting solutions to poverty. We design and deliver market-based solutions in Agriculture and WASH in 11 countries across Asia, Africa, and Central America. Much more than a collection of technologies and field offices, we are a globally integrated ecosystem of nearly 1,000 staff, passionate about innovation and entrepreneurism.
The bottom line is improving the lives of our clients: the rural farmers and small businesses that are among the world’s poorest. The impact we report is rooted in reality and the data is readily available to anyone. This is our method of ensuring that the investments—in money and in time—made by our donors, the rural entrepreneurs we are working with, the customers they are serving, and our staff are having real impact.
