Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Design, Manufacturing and Automation Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience as Technical Program Manager, Pixel Phone or equivalent experience.
  • 5 years of relevant work experience.
  • 2 years of industry experience.
  • Project experience managing cross-functional Technical teams.

Preferred qualifications:

  • MBA or a Master's degree in a related field of study.
  • 10 years of direct experience working and managing international Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) partners.
  • Demonstrated track record in managing a cross-functional team in order to achieve new product objectives inclusive of quality, yield and cost.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

As a Sustaining Technical Manager, you'll be the Operations technical lead and cornerstone of operations communication with technical cross-functional teams during ramp to end of life. You will lead a team of professionals to ensure products are built to Google’s high standards during ramp and in mass production. Additionally, you will be able to work in a fast paced and sometimes high-pressure environment, as you work with teams to solve challenges that gate production line operations.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure early engagement with the New Product Insertion (NPI) cross-functional team in the development and support of new product introductions.
  • Manage the technical operations side of large scope projects from ramp through end of life.
  • Drive all manufacturing challenges related to board and final assembly and tests to effective closure and enable quality ramp and production.
  • Responsible for scaling. Drive line bring-up and qualification activities for ramp and production.
  • Drive continuous factory process and yield improvements and support Post Ramp Qualification activities.
