Overview

Microsoft's Cloud Operations + Innovation (CO+I) team is responsible for the infrastructure that powers Microsoft's cloud services. Within CO+I, the AI Delivery team works across Microsoft to deliver the infrastructure and platform services that support AI workloads at global scale.

We are looking for a Technical Program Manager to help accelerate the deployment of AI infrastructure and platforms.

In this role, you will coordinate complex technical programmes spanning AI compute, GPU and accelerator infrastructure, networking, storage, data centre infrastructure, software platforms and operations. You will work collaboratively with engineering, supply chain, data centre and business teams to identify dependencies, resolve delivery challenges and help bring AI capacity into production efficiently and predictably.

You will combine technical understanding with programme management skills to bring teams together, create clarity and support effective decision-making in complex environments.

Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end technical programmes supporting the deployment of AI infrastructure, from requirements and planning through production readiness.
  • Coordinate multiple technical workstreams, establishing clear milestones, dependencies, risks, success measures and outcomes.
  • Collaborate with hardware engineering, software engineering, infrastructure, networking, data centre operations and supply chain teams to address delivery challenges.
  • Apply knowledge of AI deployment architectures, including GPU or accelerator compute, networking, storage, power, cooling and platform readiness.
  • Identify technical risks and coordinate mitigation across hardware, firmware, software and operational teams.
  • Identify opportunities to improve deployment processes, reduce cycle time and develop repeatable approaches that support delivery at scale.
  • Provide clear, data-informed updates to stakeholders and senior leaders, including progress, risks, trade-offs and recommended actions

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience managing complex, cross-functional technical programmes involving infrastructure or platform delivery.
  • Experience delivering or scaling AI, HPC or GPU/accelerator-based infrastructure in production environments.
  • Technical knowledge in areas such as cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, large-scale data centre delivery or hardware-software integration, including compute, networking, storage, power or cooling.
  • Experience managing interdependent workstreams, technical risks and delivery challenges in complex environments.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical information clearly to senior stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with large-scale data centre operations, hardware lifecycle management or global infrastructure deployment.
  • Experience improving deployment processes or reducing delivery cycle times.
  • Experience working with hyperscale cloud infrastructure or enterprise AI platforms.

Background Check Requirements

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements is required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialised security screening:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire or transfer and every two years thereafter

Technical Program Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across Ireland is € 99,800.00 - € 172,400.00 per year. Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
