Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, architecture, project management, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience as a project manager on projects and programs.
  • 5 years of experience using spreadsheet tools for ad-hoc data analysis, data input, and reporting in a technical or business context.
  • Experience in data center design and construction, or similar industries.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in engineering, construction management, architecture, or project management.
  • Professional experience in Change Management, and a PMP certification or similar.
  • Experience building data architecture using SQLite, PostgreSQL, or comparable platforms, and experience with Looker Studio or other data visualization platforms.
  • Proficiency with AI and the ability to effectively, efficiently and ethically interact with AI systems to achieve desired outcomes, and experience managing AI program rollouts to decrease workload for repeatable tasks.

You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

The focus of the Engineering Change Management (ECM) team is to standardize and streamline Engineering Changes across Google's Data Centers, ensuring efficient project execution, cost control, schedule adherence, and alignment with strategic goals. As an ECM Technical Program Manager at Google, you will use your program management expertise to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives from start to finish. You will work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage workflows, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You are equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical scope of engineering changes with project managers.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $163000 - $236000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities

  • Partner with multiple Data Center and Google Cloud teams to manage and report on several simultaneous workstreams.
  • Track status of varied workstreams and provide reports, notifications, and presentations on specific, regional, and global levels.
  • Build workflows and data frameworks that scale.
  • Manage partner team data input mechanisms, seeking to automate and make systematic wherever possible.
  • Sustain a continuous improvement approach including ability to solicit feedback, identify and present process improvements and change management ideas.
