If you choose to apply, please include a short cover letter written in your own words. We're more interested in hearing from the real you than a polished template.
The program is behind. Two teams think they own the same decision, and a third thinks nobody does. Leadership wants a straight answer on whether the date is realistic, and right now nobody can give them one.
If you've been the person who steps into that situation and turns uncertainty into a plan people trust, this role may feel familiar.
You'd join Schibsted's CTO Office as a Technical Program Manager, working across the technology organization to keep strategic initiatives structured, staffed, tracked, and moving.
Depending on what a program needs, you might act as project manager, program manager, or portfolio operator. These are portfolio-level initiatives that span multiple teams, functions, and sometimes organizations.
The programs vary: platform migrations, shared-service transitions, operating model changes, or work following an M&A. What they have in common is complexity, many stakeholders, and ambiguity around ownership and decisions.
You won't own Technology's overall operating model or portfolio strategy; that sits with the CTO. Your focus is turning strategy into execution: structuring initiatives, bringing the right people and decisions together, and giving leadership a clear view of progress, risks, and next steps.
If you enjoy taking a half-formed mandate and building the plan, governance, and momentum around it, this is the kind of role we're hiring for.
You have substantial experience leading complex programs, projects, or workstreams in a technology organization. That could be technology program management, project management, portfolio operations, or technical delivery.
You've worked with genuine cross-functional or cross-organizational complexity, such as a platform change, migration, shared-service rollout, post-merger integration, or operating model shift.
You don't need to have done exactly this kind of work before. You do need to have handled work with this kind of complexity and made it land.
A few things tend to be true of people who do well in this role:
We put real weight on how you operate as well as what you've delivered. Your professional skills and experience matter, and we'll also look closely at how you structure complexity, build trust, communicate, and create momentum across organizational boundaries.
You'll start by taking ownership of a workstream or smaller program end to end. Over time, you'll take on larger and more complex programs independently and become someone technology leadership trusts with ambiguous, high-stakes work.
The work matters beyond any one program. When a technology separation or platform migration goes wrong, the tools a newsroom depends on to publish can stop working, or a subscriber's payment can fail. Strong program management helps keep Schibsted's media brands running for the millions of people who use them every day.
The role is open to internal and external candidates, who will be assessed against the same role requirements.
The role is based in Stockholm and follows a hybrid setup. Plan on being in the office at least 2–3 days a week, and you'll need to be based in Sweden.
For Sweden-based roles, the final candidate will undergo a background check as part of the recruitment process.
We review applications and interview on a rolling basis, so don't wait for the deadline if this sounds like your kind of problem to solve. We may move forward with the right person before the application period closes.
