Job Description

The Treasury Technical Product Owner serves as the strategic bridge between Treasurybusiness objectives, treasury management product strategy, technology execution, regulatory expectations, and portfolio governance. This role is accountable for translating demandacross treasury management, cash management, payments, receivables, payables, liquidity services, fraud prevention, client channels, operations, risk, and vendor platformsinto secure, scalable, compliant, and actionable technical solutions The TPO connects strategy, technology, execution, and governance to help Treasury technology teams deliver measurable business value while protecting client trust, operational resilience, payment integrity, and regulatory compliance.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Connect Treasury business strategy, treasury management product priorities, technology strategy, engineering execution, risk management, regulatory expectations, and portfolio governance to ensure product work is aligned to enterprise and commercial client priorities.
  • Facilitate the translation of Treasury demand into actionable technical solutions, user stories, acceptance criteria, controls, data needs, and implementation-ready work items.
  • Own and manage the Treasury technology work queue and product backlog in partnership with the Business Product Owner, including intake, refinement, prioritization, sequencing, readiness for delivery, and alignment with client, operational, revenue, compliance, and risk outcomes.
  • Support roadmap planning and communication by aligning Treasury priorities, delivery capacity, technical dependencies, funding considerations, regulatory timelines, vendor commitments, client impacts, and risk exposure.
  • Coordinate solution design across engineering leads, architects, business analysts, Treasury operations, implementation teams, client servicing, cybersecurity, compliance, fraud, risk, audit, QA, vendors, and other banking technology partners.
  • Guide technical decomposition of Treasury needs into platform, API, file transmission, host-to-host, online channel, data, reporting, payment processing, integration, non-functional, security, resiliency, scalability, privacy, and operational requirements.
  • Partner with engineering leadership on capacity and technical resource planning to ensure the right Treasury capabilities are delivered at the right time for maximum business value, client impact, revenue enablement, and risk reduction.
  • Identify, manage, and escalate risks, dependencies, blockers, technical debt, architectural constraints, data impacts, vendor constraints, payment processing impacts, control gaps, and delivery trade-offs early in the lifecycle.
  • Ensure alignment with architecture standards, technology governance checkpoints, cybersecurity expectations, regulatory requirements, audit expectations, data protection standards, disaster recovery needs, payment security, and operational readiness criteria.
  • Support delivery cadence through sprint planning, backlog refinement, reviews, demos, release planning, change management, client impact assessment, implementation readiness, operational readiness, and production support transition activities.
  • Provide leadership with actionable governance insights related to Treasury demand, capacity, progress, risks, dependencies, funding alignment, regulatory commitments, vendor constraints, client impacts, revenue enablement, and value delivery.
  • Maintain clear documentation, decision records, requirements traceability, control evidence, test alignment, payment flow documentation, implementation readiness artifacts, and audit-ready materials to support transparency, compliance, and ongoing Treasury product accountability.

Qualifications

Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or related field. Master's Degree is preferred.

Minimum Experience: 10+ years of IT and business/industry work experience to include the development, implementation, integration and maintenance technology solutions across multiple hardware and software application and infrastructure platforms. 4+ years of experience in managing multiple, medium to large cross-functional teams and projects.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, Finance, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience working as a Product Owner, Technical Product Owner, Business Analyst, Product Manager, Systems Analyst, or similar role in Treasury management, commercial banking, payments, cash management, liquidity services, financial services, fintech, operations, or regulated technology delivery.
  • Strong understanding of agile delivery practices, product backlog management, sprint planning, user story development, acceptance criteria, and Definition of Ready/Definition of Done practices.
  • Ability to understand technical concepts, system integrations, APIs, file transmissions, host-to-host connectivity, payment rails, data flows, cloud platforms, infrastructure, application architecture, vendor platforms, and Treasury platform dependencies at a level sufficient to guide delivery decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to gather requirements, facilitate stakeholder discussions, resolve ambiguity, and drive alignment across Treasury business, technology, operations, implementation, client servicing, risk, compliance, fraud, audit, and vendor teams.
  • Working knowledge of Treasury controls, payment security, fraud prevention, cybersecurity expectations, data privacy, regulatory compliance, audit traceability, change management, production support, and operational readiness concepts.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages for executive, Treasury business, technical, operational, implementation, risk, compliance, and audit audiences.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, prioritization, decision-making, and risk-based trade-off skills, including the ability to balance client experience, payment quality, operational efficiency, revenue enablement, and control expectations.
  • Experience using agile delivery and collaboration tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, Confluence, ServiceNow, ALM tools, or similar platforms.

Additional Information

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified Scrum Product Owner, SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager, Scrum Master, Agile Product Management, or related agile certification.
  • Experience with Treasury domains such as ACH, wires, real-time payments, FedNow, RTP, receivables, payables, merchant services, positive pay, account analysis, cash positioning, liquidity management, balance reporting, lockbox, remote deposit capture, file transmission, bank connectivity, and commercial online banking.
  • Knowledge of vendor-managed Treasury platforms, third-party integrations, system modernization, data conversion, application integration, open banking APIs, ISO 20022, enterprise transformation, or merger/conversion programs.
  • Experience supporting audit, regulatory, cybersecurity, fraud prevention, disaster recovery, business continuity, operational resilience, incident management, payment exception handling, or production support requirements.
  • Familiarity with Treasury KPIs, client journey mapping, operational metrics, service-level expectations, transaction volumes, payment exception rates, client adoption, revenue metrics, data analytics, reporting, and product performance measurement.
